after finding a new set of rear ags that I traded for my turfs, I was chomping at the bit to try out my newly reconditioned box blade in my lake of a side yard.... The calcium filled tires really bit in... I tried grading a small "trough" a couple weeks ago to give the wet mushy ground somewhere to drain to. I used my woods tilt blade and dug a small trench about 150' long, but the turf tires seemed to make better drainage "tracks" than the blade did.... now I just gotta wait to let it dry out!

My yard is going to be a mess for a while...need to install some drain tile and tons and tons of fill/topsoil to make the grade like it should be....

here's some of the update pics...

I got a bunch done with the great weather we had the last couple weeks. Now, I need to finish my loader, get tons of topsoil and rent a trencher to run drain tile.

back yard.... I ended up taking about 3 to 3 1/2 feet out of the back cornerwhere the fence and the garage meet. I dug out the muck, I spread it out beside the garage to dry out. Then after a few days drying, i dug some more creating a taper to the back corner. The property slopes to the left, so I"m going to run drain pipe down the width of my property and end it at the opposite corner to the low point of the property ditchline.

Now, I had a bigger issue in the front yard too...Did the same thing...tore my my yard up, dug out the muck, let it dry out, then went back and moved material to higher ground. Added a sloped grade, from the center of the property to the ditch. this is basically what I started with...soggy, stayed mushy all year round... this pic is just from driving on it a few times..

Here's a quick phone vid of me draggin some dirt.... click on the pic, not sure why it doesn't have the play button....

I'm not totally done, but had to button it up before the rain came...I had to move my topsoil pile to the left in this pic about dusk as the storm was moving in. It all got spread out on this side of the house, about center of the red fence in all those low spots in the pics. That was difficult doing that in the dark, as it started to rain, but I was amazed how smooth she turned out! I had a bucket sitting outback that had 2"of rain in it the next morning... no pond or swap in the front or back yard where there was before.... I didn't take any pics the other night because it was dark, and just plain forgot today, but I'm mostly finished with the rough grading...need a bunch of fill dirt next (and a loader to move it). I'm thoroughly amazed at this little tractor. i worked the dog snot out of it, and it took it like a champ. Might be the best 800 bucks I ever spent! I'll try to get a "finished" pic of the front yard if I can get home before dark tomorrow!

Best part is....... After I was done in the muck, I got my matching front ags! lol. Had it get a little warm on me and I ended up taking the radiator in to get cleaned and they found a pinhole.. . put me down for two days in this 80 degree weather weve had.... New belts and hoses and cleaned up the engine and repainted some on it.

Still have a ton of work to do, but maybe I can get the loader finished soon to move fill/top soil and get some grass seed in....

You have moved quite a bit of ground! Looks great! How long do you think you spent working with the boxblade?

Wow, your Beaver looks like one serious little tractor. You will defiantly notice a difference when you try out the 4wd with the R1's up front.

A bunch!....but in actualality, not that much.. a couple hours here after work, a couple hours here one weekend, couple more hours here....the worst part was the muddy muck.. youknow how hard it is to dump or spread clumps of wet mud? once it was dry it was rather easy and didn't take much time.

yeah! It actually turns! (without using the left/right brakes)!

Lots of great pics! That tractor cleans up nice, and definitely looks meaner with the R-1's up front.

Have you considered just swaling out the land for drainage?

Yes. I'm going to put a swale in the front but I'm still going to trench and put in drain pipe at both side of the property. The area where I live is horrible with water!

On a side note, I took yesterday off to get some stuff done around the house and had a county engineer show up... Seems the old lady next door is bent. She thinks I'm going to flood her out. Lol. The engineer just laughed when I explained what I was doing and how I was going about it. He asked if I made any enemies with my neighbors... I said no, I talk to the two across the road on a regular basis and I mowed the old hags entire 3 acres all last summer because her son took her old Kubota and broke it... I didn't even get a thank you, a warm apple pie or even an introduction. I went out one 90 degree day in July when she was push mowing her ditch. I felt bad, went over and introduced myself and proceeded to mow her lawn because I felt bad for her. Got a thank you that day... And that was it

So now I'm trying to get rid of my standing water (her yard is worse than mine) and she won't even come over and ask what I'm doing but calls the county engineer? Wtf.
