did you just squirt the FF in the keyhole?

James K0UA

Yes, I sprayed directly in the hole a little at a time and kept putting the key in and out. Did this process several times.

Do you think that the tarp might have caused something of a "greenhouse" effect so there was very high humidity???

I don't think so. Plenty of circulation and no signs of condensation (at least when I was there). It does get mighty humid here though. Somewhere along the line it must've gotten some kind of moisture in it.

It must be all the salt in the air, you being in the Mid Atlantic and all.

I spoke with my local Kioti dealer earlier this week, and he told me that Kioti is coming out with a new design ignition switch. Apparently the older models were sealed on the back of the switch, but not the top. This wouldn't allow moisture to flow through effectively. The new switch supposedly fixes this problem and will retrofit into all of the older model tractors.

I own a CT122 Bobcat, which is basically a CK20. The only problem I've had with it is a failure to start after I left it outside during a wet snowstorm. I've since bought the $2 ignition switch cover that Kioti's come with

This makes sense to me. When I removed and cleaned my intermittent switch, there was a solid layer of fine dirt dust all over the ourside.

My 2011 DS45 has a plastic cap attached to the ignition switch . Pull out the key and cap the switch.

Yep. That's the cover most of use lose after the flimsy leash breaks.

Don't have a photo but it is a very simple plastic lid/cap that is just held on by friction and dangles on an even flimsier leash when you have the key inserted. $0.02 part.

After parking her CK27 HST for the winter, removing battery, returning is sprint with fully charged battery, I turned the key and nothing, tried many more times and no dash lights nothing. Check battery connections all was 100%, grabbed my external battery booster still nothing, so I walked away and did some pondering, and then remembered some of the ignition key issues , so I go back and start to really jiggle Key and I manage to get some dash lights and even glow plug light, but to starter, all I had was some Krown rust proofing spay , so tried a little in the ignition key, and low and behold I got intermittent starter action and within 2 or 3 minutes all seemed fine:D. Was exposed to weather year one, but I have that little cover and used it every day, last two years she has her own large grey plastic garage.
