Well, if they're asking $8500, and you let them know you are looking at a $1200 repair bill first thing, they may well move a least that amount.

Yep, I just emailed the owner with the repair estimate asking if she'd like to have the repair diagnosed/made or if she would discount the price accordingly.

Congrats on your new purchase. Honnestly, if he rear pto alone & the mid pto alone are working fine i wouldn't pay 1200$ to get the 'both' pto fix. In 3 years we never had to use both pto at he same time. But our only implements is a fel & mmm ( dad's bx) Maybe you a diff need. But me, at 7k$ with this little issue I would have jumped on it.
