That's a heck of a hill. I like the carry-all setup, I'm working on something similar for my tractor. I've got a hill that's as steep, but its much shorter (which I'm grateful for!). Do you notice any issues with a heavy load of wood on the 3pt on the hill with traction or balance? I've got a ton of firewood and some good logs at the bottom of my hill and I'm hoping to load up the bucket and the carry all to speed up the retrieval of the wood.

I try to balance the load. That is about the max I would want to put on the rear. I havent had any trouble hauling this way and it is about a mile trip. I have laid off putting a rack on the carry all or at least uprights. When loaded like I was I go slow and keep everything close to the ground I measured the steepest hill in the video with and angle finder and it was about 28 degree slope. I have had the tractor on steeper and the tractor ran fine but the operator felt a little uncomfortable.:)

Amazing the work the tractor is doing. You all are talking of the hill. How about the load of wood. Un-real.

That's it. John Deere is out. Kubota is in.!! ..... Not.!!:D

Heck of a video.

Thanks for posting.

That is about all the weight it wanted. Especially coming off the hill.

eeeek....to me that wood is worth at least a grand per cord

I'm thinking that it must be hard to concentrate sometimes as you would be privileged to see some beautiful sunsets atop some of those peaks

Stalled it going up a hill?

I wouldn't call it a hill even. We had a bad pond levy washout I was repairing and I had to go up a side approach to the overflow that was washed out, hold the tractor there long enough to position the bucket just right to dump into the hole and then contour it with a ridge. The last four feet kind of "kicked out" and when my front wheels hit that, my tractor would start to "stutter" is about the best I can describe. I never lost power completely, but it was not something I want to do again.

After the last washout, our renters used one of their 7000 Series John Deeres to fill it with dirt/clay then we put 6" rock on top of that then 2" then smoothed it up with his JD 4610 eHydro. He didn't put the eHydro on the steepest part either.

I went back after they finished and added more dirt to cut down on the angle and now mow it by backing up hill with my rotary cutter.

Thanks! Thats quite the trip. Mine is only a few 100 feet long, but steep and with a lake at the bottom. Hoping to try the carry all out this weekend. Its too slow using the fel only and towing a trailer doesnt feel safe on the slope. Thats some nice wood too!

Be careful to not overload the carryall. The one I have has been beefed up. Just a heads up.

It is beautiful and I love to spend time in the woods. Its hard to run machines on the hills though. So much of the property is not accessable with a tractor. Thanks.

Maybe you'd be a perfect candidate for some type of winch on your tractor Dex
