I'd go with a 3 pt it's a heck of a lot easier to manuver in tight spots.

I use a 7ft brillion 3pt and it works great

For $150, we will add a 3 point hitch to any cultipacker we have in stock that is single roller and under 8 ft. Ken Sweet

Ken,
When you add the 3 pt hitch do you also leave the tongue?

We leave it if it's not too long and the customer requests leaving it. Ken Sweet

One of these days I am going to have to order a cultipacker from you. I just keep blowing my toy budget other places. This year it was a grapple.

I bought an old 8 ft double roller. Converted from pull to 3pt. I like the 3pt better. Two thing to keep in mind.... the double roller is double HEAVY and how wide is the trailer you will use to transport. I like to use mine on a smaller tractor. It is wider than my trailer and my tractor won't lift it high enough on the 3pt to clear trailer rails. So I have to unhook to haul. I think somewhere between 5-6 ft would be the best width. Just depends on your setup how you intend to use it.

I traded for an old 10' last fall, cut it in half and made a 3 pt unit for me and a tow behind for my buddy. Old packers have wood 'bearings in the ends. Used polypropylene to replace the the ones in the one ends I reused. Made new ends for the second one out of pipe welded to a new frame with polypropylene bushings with ajerk fittings.
