Is this a Copperhead Snake?

I think this a Copperhead Snake is it?

That is not a copperhead. It looks like a macassin to me. A copperhead's head looks like the color of a new penny.
I'd say that one is in hte best shape he can be, DEAD.

It doesn't look like a copperhead to me either. Copperheads that I'm familiar with have distinctive dumbell shaped markings on their back; but this guy is similar enough that I would shoot first and ask questions later. Did he have fangs?

They do mention that possibility on the website - "While close inspection of a snake's face and/or its bum is a definitive way to distinguish a venomous snake from a harmless species, it requires one to get dangerously close to a potently dangerous animal."

Pics aren't great but almost looks like a timber rattler with the stripe down it's back. Any buttons on the tail? Sometimes they can be small. Fangs?, Pupil's (eye) long instead of round? I'm no expert though I've seen enough copperheads to say you can rule that out.

I'd also guess some sort of rattler, but figured the tail would have been noticeable...
