Buying Advice 3320 cab air ride seat

I would get it for sure. It can tell you that the John Deere 4x20 series tractors are a rougher riding tractor than the New Holland Boomer 3000 series tractor. It is due the JD shorter wheelbase. Since I owned a NH Boomer 3040 and now own a JD 4520, I saw this first hand yesterday mowing about 12 arcages of lawn. When I mowed at the same speed (about 6 to 7 MPH) with the Boomer 3040, the Boomer had a smoother ride; I guess the 3 inches in a wheelbase does make a big difference. The JD does bounce you around a lot more, but with the air seat, that absorbs a lot of the shock. You might find it a big plus with the JD 3x20 tractors seeing that tractor has a smaller wheelbase than the 4x20 tractors.

Have you ever tried the stock seat out in a field? I think you'd be surprised. :)

Actually, I have. My uncle has the standard seat on his JD 3520 and it is pretty good, but when mowing old fields now turned lawn and are very bumpy, the air ride seat is a much better option. There is a noticeable difference with the jarring and shock to the tailbone/spine and body in general.

Absolutely correct. Easy to see you've sat in one. I installed an air ride seat in my Kubota 5740 and it wasn't an easy task but it was worth the added expense and time it took to do it. I'll never go back to a mechanical seat again. Never!

Kubotas mechanical seat is a different animal, I understand why you/anyone would want to change it. Having owned an L4240 and now 4320 (IMO) there really is no comparison. In the field the stock Kubota seat can be bone jaring. :(

It's takes a brave man to admit these mechanical seats are not that great. Here's why I changed mine out.

looks like the used that minimum travel original seat becuase of the lack of head room. Even with that guys modifications and the addtion of the air seat, he lost alot more headroom. notice how he is bending over as he tests the bouncing. So when he goe over bumps, he is gonna slam his head on the roof. John deere cabs have enough headroom to sit a 7 foot tall man inside and still uitilize either seat.

besides, is this the same guy?

Well your observation's are totally out to lunch. I'll tell you how I know. It's because I'm the guy who did this modification and I'm the guy who was in the video. The reason I may appear leaned over was to look down at the camera. The reason the floor pan was modified was because the orginal seats in these Kubotas are built with they're mounting frames on a leaned towards the front angle.
These air ride seats have to be mounted on a level surface to work and that's the only reason the floor pan was modified. In addition to your observation I have more head room than I had before and theres not a chanch in **** of hitting my head going over a bump. I will admit I'm not 7' tall and the only thing "Short" about me is my name. If I was 7' tall I would have went with an open station tractor.
The seat is not a limited travel air ride seat. All these Grammer seats have basically the same travel. The seat was designed and intended to be used in a compact tractor. This mod was well thought out. Put over 60 hours on it and hated to leave the cab when the job was done. I only know of two Air Ride seats in a Kubota Grand L series tractor and mine is one of them. I'm betting Kubota will use this system in the not to distant future.
I can assure you of one thing. If this modification was anything less than perfect in this tractor I would have pulled it out of the machine and used it for an office chair.

I hope you weren't offended. I did not know that was you in the cab and my observation was just an observation whether true or false.

Not offended at all. It's just hard to believe that someone could post such inaccuracies about a seat or a cab that you have never sat in. There is plenty of head room in the Grand L cabs but I just hated the seat that came with the new tractor. I realize that your partial to Deere and I'd expect you to be considering we are on the Deere section of this forum but your inaccurate statements of my seat mod gave me the impression that your so narrow minded you could look through a key hole with both eyes. Hope your not offended
