Eddie:

If changing the light bulb is going to be really hard, just use a LED type bulb.

Typically, they have 30,000 hours of life and don't put out much heat at all. They are expensive, but coming down in price rapidly.

After not doing anything on the gazebo, I've been messing around with it again. The metal panels for the railing are something that I really don't enjoy doing, but a really big part of my design. There isn't any easy way to get around it, and to make my life harder, I've changed my mind on how many I want. It's going to have six instead of four.

I did the second one this weekend.

Eddie, are you building those panels or buying them? If building them, I can see a lot of tedious work there.

Panels look great Eddie!! I have built allot of banisters and I know how time consuming and "tedious" they can be!!! In the end it is all worth it though:thumbsup:

Eddie,
Nice work. What changed your mind about 4 panels, now 6 panels?

Jim,

Yes, I'm building the panels. Each is unique in size because the thickness of each log is a little different. I also have to cut, shape and sand the logs so the panels fit tight.

Dennis,

Thanks!!!

Brandi,

Every time I walk by it, I look at it and picture what it will look like done. My original plan was to have half of it open, and half of it closed with the panels. The idea was for the panels to be both a barrier for animals in the pasture, and to also provide structural support to lock the logs into positing from racking.

I'm not 100% that it wont move with just four panels on one side. While debating that with myself, I started thinking of what it would look like with two more panels. The more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea of what I think it will look like. Once that happened, it became part of the plan. Looks are EVERYTHING!!!!
