mines straight up and about facing between 1 & 2 o clock. i never get it in the face but it barely emits anything anyway. only that very faint puff on acceleration. then my YM4 on the other hand, the fumes from that thing nearly knock you out. you can see the "blue haze" out the exhaust

I think whatever works in your situation is the best way! :thumbsup:

We all have different obstacles and requirements nothing wrong with modifying it. Now doing it nice that is where I would be super critical it would have to be pretty and functional and not be in the way later when I do repairs etc etc thats me. Pic 1 looks like a good instal fwtw.

Mine is straight up with a flapper that directs the smoke forward and up and wouldn't work any other way with my requirements at this point in time.

jmho I think a good whiff of ulsd smoke is a good thing occasionally it makes me think cheap efficient horse power. :laughing:

edit: its the choking dust cloud that seems to find me and stick with me when I am tilling a big garden is what I would like to modify! :)

Horizontal forward. It's well tucked into the loader arms where I can't snag it in the orchard.

I turned the YM186D exhaust forward like this too, as soon as I brought it home.

I've had good luck re-using the gasket. I have a new gasket on the shelf that I didn't need for either tractor.

I did mine like California, Makes it alot easier to cover up when not in use.

Were you able to just unbolt, turn it 90 degrees and rebolt it back on?

Yep thats all you have to do, you can turn it 90 degrees and 180 degrees? You can turn it anyway you want to, its a perfect square.

If I was turning mine for some reason it would be forward. I spend too much time in the back hooking stuff up like most probably do.

Looks like Yanmar probably had that configuration designed in thats a clever use of parts and space I think anyway.

Guys think about it :confused: Not much of a choice. If you point it backwards Like I would with a Quick Hitch your be adding a Tail pipe. Back and no exhaust pipe you "Will be Wiffing it up" :laughing: Point it down how long will that Last :ashamed:
