Does anyone know where I can get after market brakes shoes for a Ford 1720 tractor.

They are a low production specialty shoe so you are not going to find an aftermarket source like for a pickup or car. So they tend to be real expensive from the dealer. Here are some suggestions:

eBay. They come up now and then although not really cheap either.

Find a brake rebuilder in the area. A lot of commercial and industrial equipment get the shoes rebuilt by an independent shop that will mount up linings onto shoes by riveting or bonding.

Mount your own. It's what I did and has worked out well with the only issue being a lot of adjustment until the shoes wear into the correct radius.

Use google to search for: " TooManyToys facebook " then look in my photo albums for the relining of my 1710.

Just popped the cover off the brakes, this tractor has disc brakes and if it doesn't run in oil Iv'e got one heck of a leak, quite a bit pf oil in the shop before I could recover a bucket. if anyone has repaired the brakes on this model I would appreciate any info, thanks in advance.

Just a little FYI, these brakes do run in oil, they are disc brakes, available thru New Holland and aftermarket, takes 3 per side, only adj is the linkage, same disc on several different models,

That's good to know. NH website was down and I was not able to see if brakes were dry or wet.

it is a fact that " you don't know what you don't you " but more so, it is a shame just to accept it and not want to find out.

Got the parts in today, easiest brake job I ever did, saide the old disc off and slide the new ones on palce, takes longer to scrape off the old gasket than anything else, just slightly expensive,
