Toothbar - How much and where can I buy them

I don't have a tooth bar, but I did get a Ratchet Rake for just under $300. As with most attachments or implements on TBN, the tasks at hand dictate the fondness for the equipment.

I dig rarely with my FEL, only loose bottomland dirt to enrich the yard and garden. Any FEL works. Toothbar not needed. I have a boxblade, but don't use it for digging either, just to smooth my long gravel drive (other implements would perhaps be better, but the BB is old and cheap).

Toothbars, like my Ratchet Rake, keep things from sliding off the bucket, and that makes them great for brush and sapling control. I have a big problem with that, so the rake was a great buy.

I don't think toothbars are overpraised, just appreciated by some with specific tasks they handle.

Cheaper than most implements. About $600-1000 for one like mine. You just need some hydraulic hoses and quick connects ($100-150) to hook up to the rear remotes.

Did you get both remotes. If not did you install the 2nd remote? I in a fit of stuppidity I did not get the second remote and I allready bought the hyd top link from mnt view, In dark grey of coarse. So I would need the 2nd remote.

Yes, I had an extra set installed at purchase. I have one set dedicated to the topping link as you do. The black set is available for backhoe or operation of other devices.

I actually have a diverter valve to run my grapple (it came free as part of a 4n1 bucket I bought via eBay). I used the rear remotes to control the grapple on my CK20 however and liked that better than the diverter valve. Given that all the hose and quick connects can be recycled for use with a diverter in the future, there is virtually zero downside to trying the rear remote grapple control option to start off. Cuts out the $700+ cost of a diverter kit and just about everyone who starts off with the rear remote system sticks with it. In fact I cannot recall anyone who paid to "upgrade" if they started using the rear remotes first.

In the newer DK40 model, 2 remotes are now a standard feature.

Maybe, or maybe your dealer just had it installed already before you negotiated for the tractor. I haven't heard before that they moved to two sets (although it makes perfect sense).

^ This is what I have to operate my grapple (3rd function and scv) and I see no need for the diverter expense. I bought my tractor with the loader mounted hardlines kit. Nice!

However, I'd LIKE to have a hydraulic top link....and I'm considering adding a Fassee diverter valve (or similar) at my rear remotes. Pretty easy to add this set up. Just hard to pony-up the expenses for the limited needs I have for a hydraulic top link. Still.....I don't feel like swapping hoses around either. May chew on this for another year.

Why not just add another set of rear remotes. One dedicated to topping lift and the other for grapple plus ?? Other uses.

I bought my tooth bar from Iowa Farm Equipment Toothbars Shipping is included and I had it in two days.

It definitely helps with digging but is not perfect. The biggest problem I have trying to dig is the width. A 60" wide "shovel" makes it difficult to penetrate.
