Wow what a nice tractor and well equipped too. I like all the goodies and will be waiting to see what you do with it. Congratulations on getting a real tractor.:)

I know that breakin proceedures have changed quite a bit from the old days so I would find out from the dealer what is best for these new engines. I do know that most engines require a good load to insure the rings and cylinder walls are broke in properly. A good steady drawbar load with the correct choice of gears would seem to be the way to go imo. Better to know the correct method instead of guessing

Thanks for the continued compliments on the new tractor everyone!

I'll ask dealer about recommended breakin procedure. I don't really have any fields that need plowing or disking right now, but I'm sure I can come up with something that will put a load on the drawbar if that is the recommended procedure. :D

Went picked her up this afternoon. I asked about the dyno reading they got off the PTO, and we went back into the shop and asked the kid that did it, and he said "85hp and 775 ft/lbs" and I was like wow and asked, but what was the uncorrected pto reading, not crank hp, and he said that was the actual reading! I don't know if the boy was on crack or what, but that sounds unreal for an engine with only 2 hours on it. I mean, 85hp is the engine rating, the PTO rating is supposed to be 70hp!

Fired her up and loaded onto my trailer. Was very happy to see that they had filled it all the way up. That's like almost 50 gallons of diesel. Cool!

Got her home and went for a cruise down in the field. This thing was bouncing all over the place. Checked air pressure, and it was 34lbs in all tires! No wonder I was bouncing.

Some pics after I got her home.

Pretty narrow stance right now. Will fit that over the next few days.

Don't much care for this block heater AC cord.

Hitch assembly. This supposedly is the new HD hitch, but it looks like the standard duty hitch to me.

My little 1 year old girl. She approves of daddy's new toy.

They went through and re-torqued all the critical bolts and marked them.

Sweet! I bet you can't wait to put on all of your goodies. I must have missed it, but did you already pick up your H260 loader? One request if you don't mind, could you take a picture of the inside of your cab that shows the buddy seat open/closed so I can decide if I want that? Thanks

Deere tells us for a good break in is to have about a good half day of ground engagement work (discing, ripping, plowing, etc.) you really want to use the drawbar HP to break in.

My dealer didn't tell me that for my 6430 Premium, but I did it anyways since that is what I bought it for.. :D

Still waiting on the loader. The good news is that until the loader gets there, we can't do the paperwork, which means I haven't paid for it yet. :D

Gee wiz how these tractors have changed! I thought when I got my 5410 12 years ago it was a very advanced, very comfortable tractor, even without the cab. I thought it was still very advanced, comfortable tractor, until about 5 minutes ago when I looked at all of your pictures! Wow! That is a very, very nice tractor. I am also very impressed of your dealer to fill the tank up, that is a lot of money they shelled out in diesel. I would be a little weary of it putting 85HP out on the dyno, but if it did, that is awesome! Sure not lacking power if it really is 85HP, heck after the break in you'll be putting out close to 100HP. Congrats on the new beast, sure is making me jealous!

I too am very skeptical of the 85 PTO HP measurement. That's the rating of the MY2012 5100M. Being this is one of the first 5085Ms off the line, maybe they messed up and slapped 5085M stickers on what is really a 5100M. :D

Or perhaps Deere is really sandbagging the ratings on these new common rail PowerTech PWX engines?

Btw, I just noticed they finally updated the online procure to show the MY2012 5M tractors (pictures and specs).
