Price of coffee What are you drinking.

I drink Nabob Columbian Dark Roast made in a French Press. I like my coffee black and strong.
Almost 3/4 pound costs me $8.19 It works out to $11.41/pound.
Not the most expensive I've drank. I used to buy Columbian beans at $16.oo/pound.

I used to drink a huge amount of coffee, but as I got older the digestive tract started breaking down. I had trouble with acid reflux and irritable bowel. When the doc found two ulcers, I decided enough was enough and quit drinking coffee. The gut settled right down. Now I drink a tea blend I developed myself. In a 2 quart pot, boiling water over 3 bags of Celestial Seasonings peppermint tea. Let the pot cool for a few minutes, then add 4 bags of green tea. Boiling water on green tea ruins the flavor.

My body is happy, the doc is happy, and I still get a little caffeine, though not as much as I got from coffee.

I drink 1 coffe a day with breakfast, thats it, and the wife drinks 2-3 coffe per week. We are buying fare trade blend from a local shop. It's always feshly roasted. We are buying 1 week aupply at the time, not grinded @ 22$/kg. And I am using a somewhat cheap espresso maker, but its maling awesome coffe. Eventually i ll buy a better brewer.

My wife gets to Costco about every 8-10 weeks and stocks up, big time.

My wife buys the red bag Sumatra from costcos in the fall. That is the only time they seem to carry it. we stock up for the year while they have it. My wife is more of the coffee snob. I enjoy Folgers special roast for early morning tractoring.

I've drank nothing but Folgers coffee since I was 14. Then about a year later decided to try some aldi brand as it is cheaper than the folgers coffee.

I made one pot with that aldi brand, drank one cup and was feeling like throwing up 20 minutes later. (Yuck)

That was the worst tasting coffee I have ever drank. I will gladly pay whatever folgers cost. It is the best tasting coffee too me. I love it.

My dad wouldn't even drink the aldi brand coffee, so we just poured it down the toilet.

Folgers all the way. It's worth the price too me and my dad.

Which Aldi coffee did you buy because they have about 10 different types? They have their reg. ol' coffee, they have Breakfast Blend and French Roast in bags, etc.

Hi all

Tonight had with my wife a Nicaraguan Ramacafe made in a Moka Pot. Had some fresh scones and blackberry jam to go with it. For breaky I will have some Ugandan Busamaga. Both were roasted by myself last week.

I can't stand cheap n' nasty coffee.

I once bought Red Mountain coffee and my God, after taking one sip I had to resist my natural reaction to spit it out.

If cyanide had a taste, that would be it.

I buy green beans in about 20 lb. lots (Costa Rican, Columbian, Peruvian, and occasionally Jamaican Blue Mountain) and roast them in 1/2 lb batches about twice a week in a Gene Coffee Roaster. I've found that the flavor peaks about 3 days after roasting, and stays pretty good for about a month. After a month, it tastes like most grocery store coffee - it's ok but nowhere near fresh roasted. I've also found that the Costco Jamaican Blue Mountain blend (some Blue Mountain beans but mostly filler beans I think) is not bad in a pinch.
