Anyone else run into this problem ? I have a 2011 kubota L-5740 hstc-3,
decided to change oil and filter for first time, went to dealer and told
them I wanted oil & filter and ask them how much oil I needed for this
tractor . They looked it up on computer and said 9.9 qts. I looked in my manual
when I got home and it also said 9.9 qts. I put 9.9 qts. in tractor and the stick
showed at least 1" above full mark. I had to drain almost 2 qts. out before
it checked to the full mark. Ask dealer about this and they said there were
two different oil pans on these tractors. Their mechanic said this 9.9 qts. was
if engine was completely DRY, other wise there would be a quart & one half
too 2 quarts trapped up in engine. Now when you change oil I thought you
were supposed to let it DRAIN completely. I had never heard of this before !!
Why would Kubota not mention this in manual ? How about all the other
fluid levels ? Can you depend on them or not ?
