BX1500 first repair to be made to the deck.

I was about half way through mowing and I heard a noise a sound and felt a vibration. I stopped and did a once over and found a spindle nut loose and the bearings were shot. I put in and order for bearings and seals so I guess it is time to do my first BX1500 repair. The tractor is a 2005 model and I think this is the original belt. Doesn't look to bad but since I will have it down to that point I will replace the $75 belt.

How many hours do you have on your 1500? I am at 900 on my 2003 BX2200 and still using the original belt and spindles.

I used to slack the belt when I stored the deck over the winter, but I stopped doing that 5 years ago or so.

I have about 270 hours on it. It was formerly owned by JohnnThomas(TBN member). It only had 100 hours on it when I got it. I am going to rebuild both outside spindles as the right side seems a little rough. That way hopefully I will not have to fool with it for a while.

Feel certain that is the original belt. Great mowing machine that I only changed oil and filters.

I am amazed at how well the little 2 cylinder diesel runs. I will have it back up and running next week after the parts come in. I used the new Kubota parts diagram and uploaded it to Messicks web site. It was a smooth process. It is a good tool for Kubota owners.

The Deck epair is all complete. While I was at it I changed the deck gear box oil. I was going to change the belt but thought I would run it a few more years. I also changed the primary fuel filter since the deck was off. Put it back together with freshly sharpened blades and mowed for about 4 hours. I was amazed at how much quieter it was. I guess it sneaked up on you:laughing:
