Hi Everybody!

I just purchased a John Deere FBA Wheat Drill and need help on how to use it to plant soybeans.

It has the charts inside the lids of the seed bins. I'm just not sure I understand what it is saying on how to set it. I know you use the levers on the rear of the drill to set the rate and you have to adjust the the tin plate levers at each seed shoot for the size of seed.

But what do the levers on the side of the seed bins do?

I have 6 acres I want to plant in beans. Just looking for any help as I want to plant this weekend and hoping not to spend alot of time trying to guess at how it works.

Also where might I get a user's manual for it.

Thank you all for any help with this!

Jeff

The levers at the back, side corners are the feed control for the fertilizer section. The picture below shows the seed lever under the lower left, and the fertilizer on the left side pointing towards the back. That drill is a JD/VB FB, which is very similar to an FB-A.

They are very simple drills, not a whole lot to figure out. Here's a link to an ebay auction for one.

I found this one in a fence row, all bunged up, bent frame and broken gears on the passenger side. Cut it about in half, made a sweet little drill. HTH Mark
