Looking at a 4wd kabota 2400 with loader that has 1200 hours on it. Sounds good, no leaks and everything seems to work as it should. Can get it for $5,700 so I am looking for advice on the hours? Seems high to me for a small unit and I would like to know your knowledge of these and life expectancy. Is it wore out?
Have a 8acre farm with horses and cattle and don't need a large tractor.

All depends on how it was treated and maintained.

I have a B2910 with 1250 hours on it .... and I'd say she's just getting "broken in" real good :D

1200 hrs is no problem if it was maintained properly. Can't see why you couldn't get another couple thousand out of it before any expensive repairs.

Thanks! I think I will go for it. The tractor seems very well maintained. Thanks for your insight.

Sold one last year that was in a barn with a five foot back blade all it's life scraping crap. Had nearly 2,500 hours on it when I sold it to a tree grower to pull a four foot brush hog. About 2,700 hours this spring when it came in to have a flat fixed and fluids changed and still going strong.

Rusty but trusty from the manure it sat in all day.

I wouldn't worry about a Kubota with that low of hours.

That actually sounds inexpensive. A 24hp Kubota with loader would go for more out here. I would guestimate in the $8k range.

I have a B2400 with 800hrs. Remember this is the largest sized of the smaller kubota tractors, the B1700-B7500-B2400.
Personally, being for loader work only and the fact of you having 8 acres, I would choose something bigger.
Thats a great price, and for that fact alone, I would go for it, though.

Over the years here on TBN, there has been discussion that the HST should last at least 5000 hours, if properly maintained, and used(not abused). There was no industry consensus, but that is what was generally figured here. There were a couple of members that even correlated hours to equivalent of miles on a car or pickup.

A search of this site would show those threads.

so I am looking for advice on the hours? Seems high to me for a small unit and I would like to know your knowledge of these and life expectancy. Is it wore out?
