Synchro or Hydraulic Shuttle?

On the Hyd SS, are there two clutches, a dry disk, and a wet clutch pac inside the trans.?

On our M8540, there is only one hydraulic clutch pack, I don't know about other tractors.

heres what i know about the hydro shuttle.a buddy an i bought tractors pretty much at the sametime.i bought the MX5100 HST because my left leg is bad.thus making clutching all the time rough on me.buddy bought the 7040 hydro shuttle.an he has ran it as long as i have my tractor.an he says that i can run that tractor with ease.as it saves alot of clutching.

Same here, I had to clutch our Case CX80 with my right foot and with the M8540, I just use the clutch via the shuttle lever 90% of the time. It did take me a while to break the habit of using the foot clutch though.

I have had the same experience going from Dad's old Massey to an L3830 with GST. Love the GST, but I still use the clutch 50% of the time as it is ingrained in my muscle memory that to stop the tractor, you hitch the clutch.

It took me about a year to overcome it and if I had a panic stop, I would probably still do it.
