Tractor
B2620
Well, the cousins had to meet for the first time. A B2620 and the newest, an L3800.

Trailer one to meet the other? Heck no.

6.5 miles on the road. 40 minutes.

What's the longest you've driven your tractor along a scenic road?

Is this a math problem?
"How long will it take B2620 traveling at 6mph and an L3800 going 8 mph, each headed to the other from 6.5 miles apart, to meet?"

I've only done about 3 mile.

When I had my Kubotas, I had a brother who lived about a mile and a half from us as the crow flies but because of an arm of the lake in the way, it was about 8 miles by road and I drove the kubotas there and back quite a few times. My wife had a brother who lived about 4 miles from us and I drove the kubotas there and back a few times. But when I was working with a neighbor cutting and baling hay, I drove his Oliver to hayfields as far as 15 miles each way.

About 250 feet to access the neighbors property to do some work every once in a while. Anywhere else, I'm a trailer *****.

I drove my old Kubota, and the current NH to help out at our fire station. It is about three miles. The B8200 was B29710/2910/7800 sized, but only 19hp. It was a long drive with only 19hp... The 40hp NH does it easy.

In the 1950's my Grandfather got a Ford tractor; my Dad drove it home about 35 miles. Brand new, drove from the dealer to home/ranch.

Is that a trick question?

I wouldn't call it scenic, but I had mine for 6 days when I drove it 6 miles to church to respread a couple loads of gravel. Took 45 minutes. Or 250 yards to help the neighbor pick rocks so they could sod after building the house.

What kind of ticket can a board cop give you for operating a tractor on a public road?

I've driven past them, and also been passed by them. They did not seem to be concerned. But, I had headlights on, and blinkers on. And, the SMV plate on the back of the tractor.

I should have clarified. We didn't meet in the middle. My brother's L3800 had just been dropped off and I drove to his house. We're digging his pond.

Also, a cop passed me with no apparent afterthought (and I was pulling a trailer as well). Had the tractor 4 way flashers on.

Theoretically at least, if an officer knew you were only using the tractor for personal transportation, I guess he/she could issue a ticket or tickets, for any number of motor vehicle violations, but since there are a number of exceptions for agricultural and construction equipment, and since most officers won't encounter such situations often enough to even know all the pertinent laws, I think it would be highly unlikely for an officer to stop a tractor and issue citations. I know I've never seen it done, and don't recall ever hearing of it being done unless the officer had reason to believe the tractor operator was intoxicated.

I routinely drive mine to my other property about 4.5 miles away when I need to bush hog or do any work. Takes me about 20 minutes. Makes me wish I had cruise control because I do get tired of pushing the treadle down the entire way. The flip side is that it would take me longer to hook up the trailer, load the tractor, pull it over to the property, unload it, etc, than just drive it over there.

It's all back roads in a rural area and I see many tractors on the roads around here, and have passed officers (including one sherriff's house I pass each way), and nobody has ever done anything but wave at me. I have flashers and SMV sign on.

I've driven about 10-15 miles several times to bush hog and disk hunting property. However, it doesn't take too long with a 150hp cab tractor.

In my county, it's legal to drive a tractor on the shoulder or if the shoulder is not available on a public road for up to 10 miles in support of a agriculture activity.

So it depends on where you live, and what is permitted by the local laws.

Ive driven 12 miles on a couple of occassions. Check before you hit the road, at least where I live, some towns have ordinances against tractors on the road.

I've driven my BX24 the 2.5 miles to the dealer a couple times. There is so much farm traffic on my road nobody would think much of it.
