Pistol Safety

Ours, too, are timed strings from the holster, but not in a concealed position. However, most of my "practice" shooting is at an indoor range where drawing and shooting from the holster is prohibited.

I'm lucky in that I have a pistol range in my back yard. If I had to drive anywhere I would probably never shoot or at least even more infrequently.

I understand that. I can go practice on the police range, but it's more than twice as far as going to Bass Pro and a lot worse traffic, too, so I don't often go to the police range.

I've never shot at an indoor range. The only one in my area won't let you pick up your brass and since I reload, I can't stand to leave all that money lying there.

The place I got my CWP license didn't allow you to police your brass either and made a pretty good chunk of change selling once fired brass.

all this talk of pistol use and off duty / law enforcement reminds me of the COP357 derrenger..

basically a break open 357/38 semi auto.. 4 bbl, rotating fire pin I guess... weight? mayvbee 5# :) my buddies joke it's a 5 shot gun. shoot 4, then you can throw it like a brick!

At the Bass Pro indoor range, you are supposed to pick up your brass. They have squeegees and dust pans there, and buckets to put the brass in. Or you can take it with you if you want to.

The advantage of the indoor range over most outdoor ranges is the ability to move your target to different distances instead of just shooting from one distance. The disadvantage is that their lighting is not as good as outdoors for me.
