Today's roll balers sure have a much better pick up though.
That thing about destroys the windrow before it gets to the forming chamber.

I think it "destroys" the windrow by purpose...all I know those little bales were wound pretty tight. I recall sometimes it was hard to get a hay hook in some. Keep in mind most bales were around 18" in diameter.

an inch and six tenths here ... light drizzle all day. The Pearl Millet is ready so I'll cut that tomorrow. My second cutting on some fields will be ready next week and the forecast looks good for haying.

Yeah around 4pm the bottum feel out and by 6pm had 4inches in rain gauge and it sprinkled alittle more after I looked. We sure needed it,there was another chance today but it didnt,so may still be on track with cutting tomorrow after lunch and on friday, and start baling on sunday(dealer still gotta come set up the baler,so gotta be right when I ask them to come). Im thinking gonna need 2days laying time before its ready, kinda hard to plan on them being there, dont wont it to lay to long or not long enough. Im new at this part:D

Good looking hay!! This year it sure feels good to see the hay meadows green and the crews out working.

We missed the bad weather totally......no rain at all from the storms, but we're still good so far this year.

Looks good forman ... I took down the Pearl Millet yesterday and it was pretty good. I'll run the conditioner over it today and it may bale late Sunday or early Monday. This is my first time with the Peral Millet ... learning experience as well.
