That is one fine looking Massey! I really think the Massey brand has alot to offer and is overlooked by many.

Yes it is a Dyna QPS, it is a little different than I'm used to with the Deere's power reverser but I do like how you can shift gears on the fly with the push of a button. The one feature about it that is aggravating is that when you shut the tractor off, it defaults back to 1st gear in whatever range you left it in. The draft control is another story, I don't know what it is or how to use it so I pulled the pin out of the cylinder that connects it to the top link until I learn what it does.

The draft control is made to control the depth that ground engaging implements run. Say you had a tiller or a middle buster that you only wanted to run so deep. Raise your 3 pt. lever all the way up., then lower the draft control lever roughly where you think it should go. Then run about 10 feet and see how deep it runs and adjust accordingly. If the implement runs too deep raise the lever and try it again until your satisfied. If the implement runs tries to run too deep the draft control will raise the 3 pt hitch to the depth you set. On the the side of the transmission is another lever that determines how fast the draft control reacts. I find it works best some where in the middle.
I took a fine file and put small notched where I want each implement to to run. Don't have to fool around with setup anymore. When your done raise the draft lever all the way up and use your pto lever as usual.
I believe Harry Ferguson had plowing in mind when he came up with this.

The 1660 is a great looking tractor. Where is it made?

I was comparing the specifications of the Massey Ferguson 1660 and the Iseki TG5570 and they look very similar, at least the versions available in Australia do. The engines are the same, as are a lot of the specs (maybe all of them). Are they different versions of the same tractor, just with different sheet metal?

It's Iseki- built from front to back. Iseki builds a good tractor. I like the looks of the 1600 series. The problem is that Massey Dealers are quite scarce in my neck of the woods. One dealer about 30 miles away but he does not even have a 1600 series tractor on the lot.

Thanks for the link, I have been experimenting with the draft control and almost have it completely figured out, it is a nice feature when using such as a subsoiler.

It can be handy, we quit farming a LOT of years ago, so I didn't bother getting it on our newest tractor; have it on another if needed though.

For my cattle operation and hay baling that I do it is not needed either, it just happened to be an already installed option on the tractor I purchased, I'm sure it will come in handy one day but for now it is just another lever to get in the way.
