Pics of spray rig on JD 3520

I used this sprayer for the first time this spring for lawn broadleaf weeds. It a 40 gallon Fimco with electric pump and 120 inch boom.

I've done about 10 acres so far without a problem. I changed out the spray tips that came with it and replaced them with TeeJet air induction tips and a no drip nozzle body.

Been getting great results using Lesco 3-way Herbicide and a surfactant.

Looks nice. I built a similar rig on my 455 (much more nimble) with a 15 gallon sprayer and plugged it into a receiver hitch on my rear 3 pt weight bar.

I had been running my 4-wheeler with a 15 gal tank which worked good. It didn't turn very short and was a beast to run compared to the JD 3520.

With the hydro on the JD it sure is smooth and easy to operate. The 40 gal tank makes for alot less fill ups and I can adjust the hieght on the boom with the 3 pt. hitch if I need to.

The booms fold up which is a plus for me because of some gates I have to go thru.

All in all I'm pleased with its performance.

I've got one of these and have had pretty good luck with it too! The first couple of times I used it, the pressure switch locked up a couple of times... When you pulled it off (3 phillips screws) the switch itself was awfully stiff when operated by hand. But once you put it back on, it seemed to work well the rest of the day?

The last time I used it, last weekend, it didn't lock up on my all! Must need some break-in time...

All in all, I'm very pleased with the unit. My only concern is that I have to store it with the booms folded up, so I'm wondering about the durability of the hose piping at the pinch points? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts about that...

My springs are on the bottom while yours are on top of the hinge part of the boom. It looks like they are holding the hose back to a crimped position where mine is free and clear.

Looks like you can change the bracket around and make it fit on the bottom.

If your storage space isn't too limited you don't have to bend the booms all the way around and the hoses wouldn't crimp too much.

Good Grief! Why didn't I think of flipping the brackets/springs over?? :duh:

And yes, storage is a bit limited... Looks like I got a project today!!

Didn't get to this last weekend, but was able to yesterday... Loosened the nuts on the spring attachment point U-bolts and flipped the spring plates over. Reattached the springs, and here's what I got (sorry for the fuzzy pictures):
