Why No Quick Attach Bucket on BX's?

I would think that by extending the bucket out that extra 6" would drastically cut down on the lift capacity. The lift capacity is only 500lbs and I would imagine almost everybody with a BX has easily maxed that out, but it is a good looking system. I like the first quickattach better, much cleaner setup, but much more work. It would be perfect if it was built to the specs of a mini skid steer then all sorts of attachments would be readily available.

Bingo. Here in lies the problem. On these small tractors, adding a quick coupler changes the fulcrum point enough to loose quite a lot of lift capacity. Add in the weight of the coupler itself and you just shot yourself in the foot. Deere uses a pin type release, as do the B-series Kubota's. I'm not so much a fan as all you can really do it put on forks. A set of bucket clamp on forks will do much the same thing for 1/3 the price.

I wanted a small tractor, sacrifices are made when you
buy said. That does not mean things can't be altered. I have
not the knowledge, currently, to even talk half way intelliegntly
about the following, but if anyone figures something out, I am
subb'd in.

Is there a way to increase the capacity of the FEL lift? The hoses
are 1/4"ID, w/ 3/8" fittings, meaning the fittings are 1/4"HOSE X 3/8"JIC FWIW.

The BH has plenty of power, I wish there were an extra 300lbs lifting force up front.

Can ya make a doubling pump, maybe connect a pony pump sumthing to
the MMM pto, plumb from the tractors pump to the pony pump and bump
up the pressure a tad?

artisan, you could try and find a pump that can take high (system) pressure on the inlet and boost that for an isolated loader circuit... but good luck finding it. Not to mention that the loader was designed for a certain pressure (2000psi?) and running it at say 3000 psi would do all kinds of bad things like blowing seals and bending parts if your lucky because they wernt designed for that!! Only thing Id recommend is to check your system pressure and set it at the exact spec. You could be several hundred under from the factory.

Realistically, regarding the BX it is what it is. A "lightweight", compact, estate tractor, and the hydraulics and lift capacity reflect that.

Here is the website for that one. Tach-N-Go, Loader Buddy, small loader Quick attach and attachments
I believe the owner is a member here. It's a nice looking unit.

I was able to bump up the operating pressure on my BX which seems to help lift capacity. By how much I couldn't say but it might have been enough to make up the difference that the extra 6" these adapter add.

Indeed Jery is a gifted engineer and a nice guy to do business w/ as well,:thumbsup:

How were you able to bump it up?

What Zick said, you shim the pressure relief valve, which is basically a spring designed to move at a set pressure thereby opening up a return-to-tank path for the excessive pressure. Shims are basically washers. Adding a shim or two basically compresses the spring a tiny bit more, thereby requiring more force for it to move the required distance for relief to take place.

I shimmed the PRV on my old JD tractor and increased the PSI by about 150. That doesn't sound like much but since that extra PSI is applied to the total area of the cylinder it's driving, it can add a lot of extra force. Using Pi x R squared for the area of a circle, and assuming a 1.75" cylinder, that 150 added PSI will yield 360 lbs of additional force. Since your loader boom has two cylinders, double that again. OK, that should be enough to get me in trouble with real hydraulic experts. :D

Now having said that, I won't be touching my PVR until my warranty is up, and then only if I think I need it. BX's are spec'd for about 1,776 PSI give or take. If you upped it to 1900 say, I'm sure you'd see a difference in what you can lift. Oh, you really need a pressure gauge to check the pressure before and after.

Thanx guys...

I read that whole thread. Yep, yes and you bet ya on the warranty deal.
I need to figure up a pressure gauge I guess and check what I have anywho.
I never did see any clear BX25 pics of the PRV Hex nut, unless I missed it...
Another to do I guess.

I bumped my BX2660 up to spec with a kit from bxpanded. It comes with a gauge with a quick coupler on it and shims. Mine was around 1600 and I took it up to 1750. This made a huge difference.
