Pistol Safety

I've thought about this issue alot over the years, and the way I see it, there are three groups we, as gun owners need to concern ourselves with..
1. The antis.. we know them. We don't need it reinforced that they are against our way of life.
2. Ourselves.. Gun owners can be just as destructive, and sometimes more, by their own actions as #1 above.
3. The great masses that are riding the fence on the question of gun ownership. And this group is the most important! It would be nice to have them on our side, but in most cases that is probably not going to happen, so, the best we can hope for is to keep them right on the fence where they have always been. This is far preferable than having them sway to the other side. To do this, we need to project the image of ourselves as sane, mainstream Americans, just like the great masses that ride that fence...

When did all this "zombie" stuff start, and where did it come from? I see zombie ammunition, zombie targets in the gun shops, etc, etc. I think it sends a poor message to non gun owners, and makes the antis think we really are as stupid an unevolved as they feared. Or, maybe I'm just gettin' old...

perhaps the latter? :)

zombie stuff started big time with the romero movies in late 60's or so..

there have been plenty of zombies in the movies lately too.. books as well.

the zombie ammo is just, for instance.. hornady's critical defense in a collector box with a different color balistic tip.. IE.. just a 'functional' promo item.

as for targets? why not.. have some fun.. shoot some zombies.

personally I think it's better to shoot a picture of something dead than shoot a picture of somebody live.. like those 'thug' silo targets...

the aniti's are generally even more underinformed than the gun crowd.. so I could care less what they think...

I bought a box of ***** Bin Laden targets a couple years ago, and I break them out for my shooting events. I love them, so do my friends.

I agree, the anti's are ignorant, but the ignorant are allowed to vote and I worry about how that can affect me.

This is the "range" set up for my 4th of July party.

We had steel silhouettes on 2x4's between the firing line and the pistol targets also.

LstInThot has those pics (his wife took them and they are awesome).

Be Well,
David

it's difficult when we can do little about it.

an ignorant vote and an informed vote all look the same on punch paper :(

I carry a Detonics .45 on my side and buttoned down and a .22 with snake shot in 3 of the 5 chambers.

Varmits come in two legged and four legged types.

Most of the time the zombies hang out at walmart.
They are the ones loitering in the isles talking to there frends while they block you from getting by or spitting tobacco on the floor or merchandise you want to buy
