PJ TRAILERS, OPINIONS / EXPERIENCES NEEDED

looks like it will more than likely be a PJ 20' with a 2' dovetail, just looking for experiences with this brand. It will be hauling my DK50 at 8K lbs and a small loader at 11500 lbs. It will be outfitted to 15k rating. CJ

I have one and its been a real good trailer. I made sides for it and fill it to the top with wood. Hauls it with no problem.

I wouldn't own a PJ trailer if you gave it to me. I was the fleet manager for a large landscape contractor, for our application they did not hold up at all. We had one break on half on the road loaded with equipment, well within what it was rated for.

I have owned 2 PJ Trailers...a 30' Goosneck deckover (They call it their FS series) and now own a 22' pintle deckover. Best trailers ever built, tow like a dream. I've made sides for mine and hung tool boxes on them... . My brother-in-law bought a Skid Steer trailer from them after I bought mine...he loves it too. Just be careful with your GVW's...they're pretty heavy trailers. Let me know if you need more help.

I've got a PJ and a Loadtrail (brother companies). I like them both. I've put thousands of miles on the PJ and it hauls like a dream... smooth. I'll be selling the Loadtrail to buy another PJ 20" wide flat deck, 14K. I'd certainly recommend them.

Thanks all, I wondered why the PJ and Loadtrail looked similar. Load trail seem to be built lighter and you have to option it up to the PJ but then it is about a grand more. I guess somebody has to pay for their new warranty, but it won't be me. I was quoted $5200 for the Load trail and $4500 for the PJ. But from what I can tell Load trail does not offer powder coating and in Michigan that makes a big difference in rust. I am sure Camer will agree. CJ

I have owned two PJ goose neck trailers. A 25'+5' 20K deckover and a 20'+2' between the fender. Both were excellent trailers. I overloaded the the 20' a couple of times with no side effects. Decking lasted 8-9 years. Great Dexter axles. Well built ramps, gusseted frame joints. One down side is they are a little heavy to pull. But that's what you get for quality.

I just picked up my PJ 14K 20' deckover last weekend. So far Im really impressed with it and it does follow the truck very smoothly. Ill see if I can take some pictures of it soon.

Look at the paint job closely. My son purchased a 12' beaver tail and in less than a year the paint is peeling off. Suspect bad powder coat job but dealer will not do anything about it. This could easily be a bad unit but it is difficult to touch up powder coat vs regular paint.

Trailer pulls nice though but so does my Load Trail.

I am not a fan of powder coat at all. I have nothing but bad experiences with powder coat on trailers.
