Its all in the prep work...if the surface was prepped correctly before it was powdercoated, then it is practically bullet proof. But even if one small spot gets missed, then it compromises the whole job, especially if you live in an area where they put salt on the roads...like here in PA for example, penndot must be affraid to use their snow plows becuase all they ever do is just dump salt up salt on the roads...nothing stands a chance.

I have a 20' PJ lowboy that I wouldn't take anything for it. Best trailer on the road in my opinion. Pulls like it's not even there.

Mine's powder coated naturally. LED's, dual axles, brake on all 4's, removable pipe rail sides, 4 tie-downs, matching spare, ramps, dual tail jacks (swing-up style), 2 5/8" bulldog hitch, 12K rated. $3000 out the door, delivered!

PJ trailers are heavy but to me that means quality. I own a 32 ft gooseneck tandum duals, 18 ft gooseneck tandum dump trailer, and a 20ft tilt trailer. If you actually use any trailer, the paint will chip, it will rust, you just need to keep up on it.

I can't add to what anyone else here as posted. But I will echo from my experience, I have a PJ 32 ft GN duals tandem axle. It is a HEAVY trailer empty. Very well built and pulls great! I know that's not the trailer you are looking at but PJs were the best I could find in my neighborhood. I think you will be happy with a PJ trailer. Loadtrail is a good one too.

I am not a fan of powder coat at all. I have nothing but bad experiences with powder coat on trailers.

Chris

I have looked at a couple of trailers around here that were less than a year old and I have to agree once the surface is broken the rust spreads like wildfire underneath. No powdercoat for me if I can help it. Thanks for the education. CJ

I have a 3 year old PJ 28' gooseneck deckover with tandem single wheels that I bought new. For the money I think PJ is one of the better trailers out there. I like everthing about it, except the paint job. This trailer has only been on the road twice in the winter since I bought it. The trailer is rusting from underneath the paint due to poor or no metal prep, not paint chips or road chemicals. In fairness to PJ this is probably an issue with all manufacturers in this price range. I've seen plenty of the higher quality trailers rusted out, but they have an excuse, daily winter use and the paint chipped and scraped off from constant use. It's kind of a shame as they look so nice new with the pinstipping and all, but then again everything looks nice new.
