Superior Rental has a 6.5'x16' 10K trailer available! I think that should work. I hope the tractor doesn't hang off the back.

I rented a 5 ton from Superior in Southington a few years ago, sounds like the same one. We went to Maine to bring back an Allis Chalmers 200. Found out that it had suitcase weights, wheel weights and loaded tires, which put the weight somewhere (I think) around 12-13000 pounds. Trailer handled it no problem.

So you put a 12,500# tractor on a trailer that has a GVWR of 10,000# and probably weighs somewhere in the neighborhood of 2,500# empty. That means you had a payload available of 7,500# and you were somewhere in the neighborhood of 5,000# overweight. Glad I am not in the rental business.

Have you tried Sunbelt rental. When i sold my Belarus loader and backhoe the guy who bought it rented a tamden ale 18 foot trailer from at the time, nations Rent, now its sunbelt. My tractor weighed it around 14500 lbs trailer held it well. worth a try. Good Luck . . .John

Yup, I would use Sunbelt. They seem to be the cheapest for equipment rental in CT.

Or go the rollback/flatbed route which may be easier for a short haul like someone else mentioned earlier in this thread.

Not exactly, the trailer I rented was a 5 ton capacity. (Of course my memory isn't what it used to be.... might have been a 10 ton) I do remember that it was almost 5000 pounds empty!
