At one time I decided that these were the best boots I could find for the money...Redwings aside.
I did not consider redwings because of there exorbitant price and even the best made boots can be cut with sharp steel...something my footwear was subject too, and I'd rather not not subject 200$ boots to that.
as you can see they are competitively priced.....

They better be for that price, the ones I priced were over 400$ per pair.
Personally I would perfer a lower boot without so many laces. Takes too long to get them on and off and they are restrictive to movement of the ankle. The break in with those boots is going to be a long time, you really need to have another pair to alternate until they get formed to your ankle.

Try something with a bullistic nylon(much light and more durable) finish instead of leather. My first pair lasted just over three years, still looked great but the sole were worn right out, they got to being unsafe as they slippery. The pair I have now are made by terra.

I have been doing plumbing since I was 15 years old. I am now 54.
Needless to say I have worn just about every boot known to man less Whites.
I can now say I have found the holy grail of "Ankle High" work boots.

Ankle High
Steel Toe
Steel Shank
Puncture Resistant
Waterproof (till they get old / broke down)
Speed Lace
Black
Scuff Resistant Rubber Toe Bumper.
Padded Achilles
Removable inner sole
NOT a Lug bottom.
COMFY from Day ONE!

If I were to complain I would complain about the bottoms
holding dirt fines.

These boots are so good I have I think 3 extra, brand
new pair, ready for when I wear the currents out and when I say
I wear out boots I mean it. GAWD I hope they do not stop
making them EVER. These boots kick donkey and I have proved it.

There indestrustable (well, I would tear up soild steel boots) but
really, there TOUGH. One review says a guys Rottie used it for
a chew toy and it survived! THAT is sayin' sumthin'!

One word; MICHELIN #XHY866 #140.99 (IF you find cheaper let me know)

Whatever you find , buy 2 pair. Don't wear one pair daily for a year. Give a day for the cushioning to recover, and for them to dry out. If you drive a truck vs standing then you may be able to get b with one pair. Your feet will feel the difference. Playa round with some of the new gel insoles. I stand at work , so I spend the $$ on quality shoes myself.
