I'll never need it, but the Max28XL has cruise control. And tilt steering. On every other point, though, your reasons for choosing something else make sense to me. I would prefer side by side pedals, too. It was too crowded for my feet on the 22/25, but the 28 has plenty of leg/foot room for me to use the front/back setup.

If you are really tall, I could see the seat being an issue. However, if you get a backhoe on the Max28XL, it is a totally different seat, which would give a tall person many more options. That's demonstrated on YouTube.

3 range might be needed for many. For me, I almost always have it in low. It is slow, but for what I do, slow and steady keeps me right side up. :)

I'm not a mahindra person, per se. When I was shopping, if bobcat had better lift capability, I could walk to them...and drive the tractor home. If they were the strongest, as they claim on their website, I would have bought a bobcat. They compare others on their site... No mention of mahindra. Funny.

I wanted the most strength for the size. I really didn't care what brand that was, when I began my research. At the end of research, I had one choice. Mahindra. In 6 months...that might be different... It depends on what other brands design.

You made a great choice and have some features on yours that I like better than mine. Like u said, I think I made a great choice, as well.

A lot had to do with upbringing. Use to work on a ranch and I used a Massey 35. What a great tractor that was. I just sold my massey 1215 that I had for 14 years trouble free. I really think people are influenced by their past. It's the same way driving a Chevy truck or ford. They are both good but you get stuck on what you think is best. And yes I'm 6'2".

Oh and yes the tilt steering was a plus on the Mahindra. I don't have that but it was on my punch list. I don't remember it having cruise on the one I tested but I too don't use it much.

All I can add it that real construction project have a way of shrinking a tractor fast. Make sure you get one large enough to handle the jobs you have for it.

well, looked at the MF1526 today. I was told they had the GC2400 also, but that was premature. So a partially wasted trip  I really liked the 1526 ... what a beast ... but the price point was really outside what I can do with rent and construction loan. Looking at the FEL specs for the GC2400, the lifting and breakout forces are lower than the others I am looking at. So ... it looks like MF is out of the running. TYM to look at yet this week and possibly other Mahindra's (2216) at the same dealer.

I do see myself upsizing the possibilities based on the feedback here. I really appreciate it.

Just Curious what were they asking for the 1526. I paid $15025 for mine but have seen them on Machinery Trader for close to $20,000. As much as I like mine I think even the 1526 is going to be too light of a tractor as to what you are indicating what you want to do with it. Have you looked at tractor house? Used Tractors For Sale at TractorHouse.com: John Deere Tractors, used farm tractors and farm equipment, tractors for sale, Case IH, New Holland, Agco, Kubota This is a pretty good place to look and compare prices. There is new and used equipment there. It gave me a good idea as to what and where I wanted to buy.

The quoted price by the pseudo-salesman (real guy was out today) was high 15's cash, 18 and change for the financing. I will get a more accurate number on Monday when I call the real salesman up.

Yeah, Mine started at 15,400 and I got it down to 15,025 I may have gotten better if I had worked him more. I did see it once for $14950 and that was with a quick attach loader. It is still listed on Tractor house. They also had it listed for $22,500 at another place. The place I went to was a big Massey Dealer. I bet they had 50 tractors there at least. It was fun looking around.

I think that the final selection, although not completely apples to apples will be: Kioti CK20, JD 1026r and will reserve a POSSIBLE place for the Mahindra 2216 which I hope to look at on Tuesday or Wednesday morning.

This Mahindra dealer really wants me to look at the 2216 over the max25 that the first dealer had in stock and showed us. I can see from the specs that the 2216 is a brute as well and will not rule out without at least looking at it.

JD seems to be a bit smaller in capabilities than the CK or the 2216. Would you concur?

Anyone have a 2216? What was your dealer quoting? What has been your experience?

When compared to the CK20HST or 2216 (max28xl), the JD 1026R is far substandard. Again, the 1026R is only a consideration if you are MMMowing, because you won't be MMMowing with any of the other tractor options. However, I still feel that the TYM T273 would be superior to any you've looked at thus far. Ultimately, whatever you end up with will be the best tractor for you. Can't wait to read the results and see the pics!

XSkier, Thanks. The latest Mahindra dealer that I wrote about above is also a TYM dealer, so we will see both soon. He was definitely directing me to the Mahindra over the TYM.
