is it worth the up grade or is it not needed

Is your question about floor thickness? I think for a small shed like this that a 4 inch floor is fine, just don't make a grading mistake and have some 3 inch spots. But if your base isn't compacted well you may be best served with a 6 inch floor.

Hey: I jacked up a 16 x 20 shed on my place and put a floor UNDER it and set it back down. turned out well other than when my nephew pulled out the screed he drug it and left a big hump in it and a low spot. used some old fence and pen fence for rebar had fiber added to 3 yards but I think they cheated me some as it did not cover all the area I wanted the figuring I did came out with it being about 4 full inches but was probably only 3 in the center.

what are the major advantages to go 6 " then 4" 4"pad with a 8"x12"perimiter=4.5 yards an 6" pad with a 8"x12" perimeter 6 yard which isn't a big leap in price

Check with your concrete supplier to see if they have a minimum load charge. You might find out that 6 CY is the same cost as 4 Cy and you can thicken the slab or footings.

Always remember that Fiber mesh is a secondary reinforcement. When using fibers put your rerod at 2' on center with a bar in your rat barrier (perimeter) Fiber + Rerob = darn near bullet proof. Don't forget to cut control joints in the slab. Here in Iowa most of the plants have a 3 yard minimum without a small load charge. I'm Not sure what they are out east ,

took the weekend off to spend time with the wife in NYC.im going to call to see how many yard i need to order before i have to pay a short fee .i think they have a small truck that hold 5 yard ,so i might increase the footing from 8hx12w =1.89 yards to 10x16=3.11 yards

Like I mentioned earlier in the thread, lay out a small "sidewalk-width" skirt area adjacent to one wall -- and if you have extra ready-mix pour the skirt.

I did something similar on one of my sheds, I laid out an apron, 8' long, but left the low end board unpegged until we poured, so I could move it over to wherever it looked like the screed would run out, then peg it there. As it happened, though, there was extra on the truck from another delivery so I filled all of that space, plus a few 4'x18" forms I'd also made up which I set in front of various walk-through doors later.

I've also grabbed a bunch of eye bolts, or even just pieces of rebar bent into a "U", and five gallon pails. Fill the buckets about half full, then jam in the eye. Once it sets, you get the bucket back and you can use the weights for tarps and such.

Ah, you just reminded me of another good idea. :)

In the slab in the shed, and in the slab adjacent to the shed, sink a hefty eye bolt (or rebar bent into a "U" per above) in a couple of convenient locations. Then, when you want to secure something expensive but portable -- like a generator for example -- you can simply use a hefty aircraft cable lock looped through the eyebolt.
