Really depends on how well you clean it off, how much fire is underneath it, and how much you burn on top and around it. If you use three or four times as much material in the "helping" part of the process, it shouldn't take more than a few hours. Personally, if you have an area to bury it for fill, that would be the ticket.

Wait a minute, let's establish some ground rules first.

1. No used oil or flammable liquids
2. Stump must be burnt as is where is
3. If fire goes out then a penalty of 4 hours added to the total
4. Only wood can be used to assist in the burning - no tires etc,
5. All estimates are to be made in hours and minutes, and
6. M7 provides the winner a gift of his/her choosing not to exceed $25 in value / 8 hours of labour, whichever is higher in value and must be legal in all states / provinces in North America.

There, that said, put me down for 17 hours 49 minutes.

Get that mill on the trailer M7, need some poplar milled up for a stable floor. :cool2:

Are leaf blowers allowed? Cause that would cut the time down more than half!

I think you should tell us what kind of a tree if was and the diameter of it. From past experience I would guess about 72 hours, then stir the ashes good and throw in a bunch of potatoes. Get some cold beer and a comfortable chair and enjoy. !!!!

C'mon Mike, your taking all the fun out of it.

-First you must drink at least 6 shots of Jack(this is easy, watch any interview with Romney, whenever he says something dumb..take a shot)
-Then, weave you way into the shop returning with a can of GASOLINE and a Zippo.
-Pour said GASOLINE all over the stump, not to worry about it splashing all over your flip flops because you will lean way back to light it.
-Toss on a few old 18wheeler tires for that black mushroom cloud that immediately signals the EPA to swoop in on their zillion dollar black helicopter.
-Lean in and "click flick"
-Slight delay................, then.............WHOOOOSH
-running away with your feet and flip flops on fire starts the "clock"

:drink:

OK, I'm with ya, only suggestion is, because of the hazards associated with running with flip flops, we mandate that some sort of footware requiring laces be worn. Oh, and JD can be substitued with CC or Crown Royal. :cool2:

Way back, when this thread started up, I was gonna suggest he bring it over here and lay it on top of the pile of hay bales I need to burn before I bale some more. Now, with this "pool" going on, and the buckets of rain we're getting this very moment, I'm putting in for 3 days, 15 hours and 59.5 minutes. This is accumulated time as a result of the repeated visits from the aforementioned " whirlybird with the EPA attitude and their fire retardant gizmos.
