I am sure getting a lot of the company line here.
You keep this up and you will have 50 posts.
Tis not the company line since I am not the company. It is what it is and I have been around long enough to have seen these same questions pop up so I figured I would help answer YOUR question.
More than a few people left TBN years ago when the rules were tightened up. Quite a few of the people who left had high posts counts on TBN and had been on this site from the start. They started their own TBN like site and I signed up to see what was happening over there years ago. The new site stunk. The people who I had thought highly of were saying things that were just flat out rude. I was really disappointed in them.

Oh yes- but, I find constructive methods of addressing my concerns, not just arguing with every point that doesn't resemble my own ideals.
Speaking of which, I think I am going to go Gnaw on my dinner now....BBQ Troll!!!:drink:
Look, I understand keeping politics and religion in a different area, but what is with having to have fifty post to get in? How about you say the front porch is for politics and religion or what ever you want and go there if you so desire. Instead you act like big brother and set up these silly rules for getting there. We are all capable of deciding what content we want to look at.
Ayep, at first the Front Porch was 500 posts to get in, now its 50 posts. From the conversatiosn back when the Front Porch was created, the 50 post requirement is mainly to: 1. Keep those who would join, troll, cause trouble, then disappear out 2. Give people an incentive to get 50 posts (get them "hooked") and help them become a member of the community .I THINK when Front Porch was opened, to allow a bit more discourse on certain subjects, the number of posts was 500 which has been decreased to 50 or some such. People still wanted more open discussion so there is another forum that is supposed to be more political and I think it requires 500 posts to access ALONG with moderator/owner permission. I don't really know since I do not participate in that forum and have no desire to do so.
This is a business. Membership is free, much like Google is free, but there is still revenue. The moderators aren't stupid, they know that by having unruly threads will deter people from their site. Less members, less potential advertising, and less profit.
Personally, if you just want a 'front porch' go join some other site, because this is a tractor forum with a subtopic of general discussions, not the other way around, and I prefer it stay that way.
I don't necessarily want or not want a front porch, but this site has one. Again, if you know going into the front porch what the content might be, then why the restrictions. If I said on here you can't buy a gun for a day waiting period, guys would go nuts and rightly so. Why are so many not willing question this policy.
I hear what your saying, but men and women died in this country so we could say what we want when we want.
no one has to look at any post they don't want to
