I'm about to pull the trigger on a new 84" landscape rake. I had one that I sold a few years back and have regretted ever since. I've been watching for a nice used unit on CL but I've miss too many and need to make a move now before winter. So I'm down to Landpride and Woods/Frontier. For athsetics I'd prefer the Frontier unit(JD Green) since it's a rebadged Woods. I've got both LP and Woods stuff so I'm familiar with both brands quality. I'm interested in hearing about tine attachment on both. I can't really tell which has the more robust tine attachment. I prefer the larger gauge wheels availible for the LP version but the top link yoke on the Woods/Frontier unit looks a bit more HD. The pricing in the LP is slightly less but not enough to sway my choice. So those with first hand expericence please give me some feedback. Thanks

Matt

i have the LP 84" with gauge wheels. i dont think it would be nearly as nice to use without the wheels.

I can move pa lot of material withthe closespaced tines. They have held up well though i bent a few when I backed it a tree.

Although I cant comment on the woods ( though it is probably very good) I highly recommend the LP

What model is the woods/frontier?

GWH,
both are good from what I have seen but I can vouch for the tines on my Frontier staying in place very straight after two years of use. My less expensive Leinbach rake with less use has the tines out of alignment. You get what you pay for, very satisfies with the Frontier/Woods quality.

You should take a look at the Everything Attachments landscape rake that we make at our own manufacturing facility here in Newton, NC. Our premium Xtreme duty rake is designed with tines that are bolted on and routed through holes with an 1/8" gap above and below the tines. This results in better control of the spring motion and helps prevent misalignment of the tines. The tines on our landscape rake are spaced at 1". The optional gauge wheels on the Everything Attachments landscape rake are also heavy duty and built to last. Everything Attachment's landscape rake is manufactured with several conveniences in mind like sleeved pin holes, a chain on the positioning pin, an integrated kick stand, and a clevis style welded a-frame hitch that is I-match and quick hitch compatible. Check them out here on our website along with the product video. These ship free within 1,000 miles of Newton, NC to a business or supporting freight terminal.

I have a woods LR72. The tines stay in place on it. I have never broken a tine on it. The only problem I had with it is I bent the piece of angle that the tines attach to with the 8n, and I am not rough on equipment. I straightened it and reinforced it. Now I need a 5' or a 7' rake since I got these Kubotas. I would not recommend a LR72 for a 3320.

The woods model is an LR107, Frontier LR2184, and the LP is an LR16. Ted, the EA rake looks pretty nice. But not the right color and since it's not as well known as the other brands potential resale would likely be lower. A quality looking unit none the less. I'm really only going to use the rake to spread gravel out since I've got most of the other rear attachments already.

The woods LR107 is a better looking rake than the LR72 but they both are only rated for 40hp.You are pretty much at the hp limit for the land pride. The frontier is not a bad looking rake either but I think the woods may look a little better.

I do not want to sidetrack the OP, but I am unfamiliar with the use of a landscape rake. What do you use it for?
