RTV 500 Won't Run After Adding Gasoline

The fuel tank is vented through a filter canister much like automobiles. Take a look at the attached parts diagram. The canister filter may be plugged or the valve in the vent line may be clogged or not working

sounds like this is the problem i bet a bug done made it's home in there or the line somewhere.

Okay ... not RTV 500 or gas related however ... my JD HPX out of the blue would just spit, sputter and die ... had to limp it home, I bought it used as well ...fought that for a few days and checked everything. Called the mechanic and he said air filter, installed a new one and BANG she purrs like a kitty in a milk parlor.

May have nothing to do with your situation ...

The fuel caps on the RTV500 are sealed and do not vent. The venting is done through the filter that is located between the fuel pump and the bed. It is a charcoal filter and is fairly large and square in shape. there is a little foam filter on the top of it that breathes for the tank. This filter is designed to capture fuel vapors and burn them apon start ups rather than expelling them into the air. also check your fuel pump sock if the sock looks like it could be dark with dirt then replace the fuel pump assembly.

Maybe check fuel tank exit. Gas tank to the filters/pump/injector may have some scum or crap hatbis impeding fuel

Hello, did you ever get this problem resolved? I bought a new rtv 500 about 2 years ago for hunting purposes and only have about 36 hours on this machine. It runs fine for a while but sometimes I stop and cut it off and try to start it back it will fire up and run about 5 seconds then just die out! I can let it set for 30 mins-hour and it fires up and runs good! Yesterday though i jumped on it to start it up for the first time in 3 days it crank ran ran about 5 seconds sputtered then died! About hour later it fired up and ran good! I took it to my hunting land and it started and ran good for several times! So I decide to go back deep in the woods! Well about a mile back I cut it off to walk away and back in about 10 mins! I come back turn the key and it fired up and ran for about 5 seconds then sputtered and died! I kept trying and trying! Finally about 30 mins later it fires up and runs good back to the trailer! I have noticed if I turn the key and don't hear the fuel pump run it won't start! so thinking my fuel pump going bad! But only got 35 hours on it!!!! I just now call the Kubota place and guy told me he don't think it has a fuel pump! I need help please guys! Sounds like a couple others have same issue!

Check fuse number 3. Could be intermittent. Replace it with a spare to test.

Check the wire connector on top of the fuel pump. Remove and replace the connector a couple of times. It could have a dirty contact.

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank. The connector is on the top of the tank.

A bad fuel pump normally won't just stop. It might not start, but once running inertia should get it past any bad spot on the commutator.

Thanks misfire!!! I will give it a try! I know it actually ran well yesterday. My buddy that was with me just told me he pulled the harness off to the fuel pump and reinstalled it when we were stalled in the woods. After he done that its when it started right up! So maybe that harness had worked lose! Thanks again for yalls advise! I hope this takes care of it!
