Loader weld on brackets for quick attach buckets

/ weld on brackets for quick attach buckets #11
what I am trying to do is convert an old FEL that doesn't have the quick attach to the quick attach style on the current JD tractors.

Now I understand, I think.

I'd start at the JD shop and with your loader model # see if they can match pin sizes with a newer carriage casting.

Hardest part is going to be getting pin sizes to match older equipment to the new stuff.

Last resort you could liquid wrench out the old pin bushings and weld in ones that will fit the new carriages.

Again, If I'm finally on the right track as to what your trying to do is to find the parts numbered 10 and 7 to fit your loader ?

I've been searching but not with much luck, but I know there was a person/company that made and sold brackets that could be welded to FEL buckets (and other things) that could allow you to use your quick attach that is on like a 2520 FEL.

Anyway, I can't seem to find the link. If someone would have it please post it for me.

Thank you.

You can buy those brackets from your Deere dealer.

Sometime, maybe a year ago, I saw somebody on eBay had a 70A loader that had been converted to JDQA. Tried to get the seller to tell me how he did it but he didn't seem so inclined.

I've had other priorities so I have never gone and done any serious research/measuring etc. Would love to have the JDQA on my 70A, but will probably just get a SSQA instead at some point.

We have SSQA on our loaders, including the JD. Much better selection of attachments in our opinion.

I looked at this too a while back. Pretty much found all the parts that would be needed from Deere. The downside is that the booms on the 70A are not the same distance apart as the booms on the 200 or 300 series loaders... so modern JDQA implements would not fit on the modified 70A due to the spacing difference.

I figured the issue would be something to do with the arm spacing. Have to wonder how that fellow accomplished what he claimed to have since IIRC, he claimed it used normal JDQA attachments. Probably had to modify stuff and just didn't admit it.

Like JoeBuyer said, we can take care of you. We offer the ATI at the link provided by Joe and also the WR Long quick attach adapter that you will find here for a little less money. I agree with Joe concerning the SSQA vs. JD quick attach for ease of use and more availability of attachments unless you already have attachments with the JD style. We also offer the hardware to convert your existing attachments.
We will be glad to help! Just give us a call or email.

I'm actually looking for my father-n-law. It is an older 740? I think that is the model number.

The loader model number is a BIG help! John Deere 740 loaders were available with pin on buckets or Quik Attach. These use what John Deere calls the 600/700 series mounts. In pin on or Quik Attach.

On the bucket, your FIL has, is there a plate on the inside mounts of the bucket for the lower pins held on with three bolts? If so they can be replaced with Quik Attach latches. BW15457 std duty or BW15242 hd. These are whole goods bundles that you buy from JD Sales not Parts. John Deere also sells the mounts to weld/bolt to attachments part numbers AW28034 & AW28035. You will also need the Quik Attach latches for these. Aftermarket also makes the JD 600/700 series latches.

If you need the brackets for another implement, aftermarket will be cheaper than JD. Look for 600/700 series mounts or sometimes they will be called JD640 style mounts (JD 640 loader is in the 600 series family).

Do you have any idea how much either option weighs?
