Since he was not using the tractor for farming the laws designed for ag use don't apply. Not only that but he could even be charged with operating an unregistered vehicle. Slow moving vehicle triangles only apply for ag use. If I want to drive my 580k on the road I need to register it, a triangle will not cut it even though it's no faster than an ag tractor.

Actually, you could be ok if going to clean out a drainage ditch or some other farm-related chore.
