Winter fuel additive

I've got a Kioti DK50SE, this is my first winter with my tractor, I am in Northern Wisconsin so it gets darn cold, what do you folks recommend for a good cold weather fuel additive? I am not real familiar with these and am not sure if there are some which are not so good for the engine, Thanks!

I have been useing Powerservice,with good results.Recenty been going year round with it....can't hurt.I am in Northern NY,you may want to think about a block heater.

I want to get a block heater as well but I would still think additive would be necessary to prevent gelling fuel

Pretty much any brand of antigel will work, just follow the directions. I use powerservice as well since it's easy to get. If your tractor is going to be kept outside and you'll be using it on those really cold mornings then you'll want a block heater. If left in a barn or garage then you can usually get away without one but I would still get one.

I also use powerservice. Our area doesn't get as cold as yours does. I have inserted the website for you. I use the Diesel Fuel Supplement + Cetane Boost and I use it year round. Schaeffer's Diesel Treat 2000 Winter Premium is an exceptional product. An on-line study can be found at dieselplace.com. The Schaeffer additive tested is the winter blend.

Another thought:this time of year my tractor uses are down;I try to use up fuel bought in the summer months.They will be switching over to winter blend soon.I

nybirdman made an important point. Run most of your summer fuel out if you can. Talk to your supplier and find out when they start using the winter blend. Or estimate how much fuel you have in your tank and add an equal amount of kero. Once winter sets in, and winter blend is in use, i don't use any additive.

Also if you haven't done it recently, change fuel filters. It's good insurance. -20 or colder raise heck with dirty filters. And i agree with having a block heater or even a Katz type heater.

You should add some diesel fuel lubricant, as the kero reduces the lubricity of diesel.
