kubota engines who makes them

The motor in my old B8200 was used in generator, and sailboats. A friend has a Bobcat S185 skidsteer; it has a turbo-Kubota in it. Kubota makes their own motors, and sources them to a lot of other companies.

I had a Yanmar engine in my sailboat. Deere uses the same one in their tractors. Years ago IH used to change from Prestolite distributers to Delco and back, according to price. Sometimes mid year.

Mitsubishi makes a lot of components. I know they do a lot of starters and alternators that could show up on about anything. They are a pretty diverse company.

The ones we sail in club have been Universal, although I believe some of the bigger boats may have Yanmar. The Cal 31 we're taking out tomorrow has Universal.

Interesting side tangent....

Three of the boats in this club, have had the diesel motor removed when they needed work. Instead of reinstalling the diesel, they put batteries, controllers, and electric motors in them. The owner said it was a major project to get the diesel motors in/out, like it took days to swap a motor. The electric motors, take 1/2 hour to swap. Same for any components in the system. The three boats were identical Catalina 30's.

I had a Yanmar engine in my sailboat.

They must have short run times. I had a Catalina 32 w/27 hp Yanmar used about 1/2 gal/hr. You would need one heck of a battery bank if there was no wind for most of the day.

LD1 u need a baby rattle

Who's judging who??

And you are right, I dont know you. But my comments are based on what I have witnessed in your 6 months and 287 posts on this forum. And it seems about every week you have a new tedious complaint about kubota.

Remember this thread http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-buying-pricing/255782-l-m-mx-series-can-4.html ?? It really started to get good on page 4.

And then on page 8 post # 72 of MINE, I suggest you get rid of your POS kubota and get anything other than a kubota. And low and behold, I now see you have your 7040 listed for sale in the private party ads section:confused2:

All I can say is...I am glad you are taking my advise.

They run for at least a couple hours. More than enough to get on to the Bay from the Marina. But I would not try to make a run up the Delta(we sail from Richmond, Ca on San Francisco Bay).

They do have a pretty big battery bank.

The engine in my Bobcat 325 mini excavator is a Kubota. Very reliable, starts and runs strong every time.

Engine is made by Kubota.
Accessories/consumables are made by suppliers.

Above is the short answer to the original question without all the snipping and sidetracking. Kubota makes their own engines. And as Ace3 pointed out, for equipment brands other than their own.
My Bobcat's got a 61 HP Kubota turbo in it.

I'm trying to figure out if I can put one in a hot rod.
