Buying Advice Hyd. top link

   / Hyd. top link #11
I guess after owning a tractor for 10 years, I'm still a newbie. I looked at the hydraulic top links in the link above, but I'm still unclear as to what good they are. Could someone clue me in please? Thanks

I use mine to help with the initial hook up, to change the angle on my box blade to dig and move dirt then dump and feather edges on the move, to raise the back of my rotary cutter going through ditches or when backing up to a steep incline to reduce stress on the tail wheel and toplink/braces etc., to lift the tail wheel higher than normal to clear an occasional obstacle while turning in tight quarters...

I have the hydraulic top link only, and would never want to be without it. Mine has the DPOCV. Not sure if it's necessary or not, but there it is.. That's what everyone was buying at the time, and some folks made a pretty good argument for it. Carter & Carter were the folks that handled it, and they still do, as far as I know. They were nice people to deal with, and very helpful. I'm thinking on if I need the side link or not...

I think Carter & Carter is in the process of updating their website..

In my case, it makes setting the angle of attack (for scraper, BB, landscape rake) easier than having to get off the tractor and turn a top link adjustment, then figure out it isn't quite what you need, and get off again and adjust. The second thing for me is when I'm using my Bush Hog, I want to get the back of it up as high as I can at times without bending the PTO shaft. If I set that correctly for when the BH is raised, then it is not at the correct angle to mow with. With a hyd. top link it is much easier to make adjustments as needed.

That's what I use mine for the most, making sure I can lift the imps higher to clear obstacles. I have a 2 row planter that was converted to 3 pt use and the hydraulic top link is the only way it would be feasible to use. You will never regret this feature if you get it.

I use mine mostly to tilt the forks I use on the rear, and also the hooks up are easier.

I received my TNT from Fit Rite and got it installed a couple of days ago and it is SWEET! I have a QH and hooking up to anything is a breeze. I used it for my quarter mile driveway with the land plane and rake and it turned a frustrating job into fun. No more getting on and off the tractor to make those small adjustments like before. I should have done it sooner.

Dave, very glad that you can now appreciate what so many have known for awhile now. "TnT" IS THE WAY TO GO. Makes "using" the 3pt hitch as it should be used enjoyable. (actually making the adjustments needed) Hope that everything works out well for you.

I am interested in one but I can't find the web site by Googling "TNT Fit Rite". Do you have an Internet link to your vendor from whom you bought yours? Thanks.
