The barn will be two stories so the peak of the trusses will be about 28', which means the lift has to be at least 30' to accomodate a sling. I made a boom for my FEL that I used to lift trusses on my last building but it isn't high enough.

I've seen trusses placed without the boom height needed to place them into final position. They were lifted and placed upside down, then rotated into position. That way you only have to lift a little above wall height, not peak height.

These are going to be metal trusses and they have pockets that drop onto top of post. So there's no way to roll them. I rolled the trusses for my house, you're right it's not hard if you have a few guys.
