2305 No Lights / Wont Start without jump

Good afternoon. Im a bit confused by whats wrong with my 2305. Out of the blue, I have to jump it to get it started. Then on top of that lost my headlights. The dash lights and blinkers work, but not exterior. Im lost here. Checked fuses, all set there. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. Would a dead battery effect the lights even after I jump it and its running?

Take the battery to a battery sales location, that has a means to load test the battery with a carbon arch tester. The battery in all likelihood will fail the test. If it does not fail, you will know it can be ruled out in future testing for the cause of your problem.

Yes, it would...

You might get lights with a bad battery (lights come on, but the tractor won't crank fast enough), but when you don't even get lights...that's indicative of a bad battery.

I'd suggest to check all 4 battery cable connections and alternator output when engine is running.

When connected to the jumping battery, does the lights work then? If so, I would agree either bad battery or terminal corrosion somewhere that is either not giving you enough ground or good enough contact. By all means a simple battery test should help deduce the problem to either a connection issue or a real battery issue.

Had the same exact thing on my 2010 with 140 hours on it. Turned out to be the battery.
Only thing I would add is mine couldn't be jumped nor would it take a charge. Good luck

Is the alternator showing proper output? Are your battery connections tight and clean? Is the tractor outside during sub freezing weather with a low battery?
