If you caught the "Black Friday" behind the scenes show, Parker borrowed 150g from grandpop and was rebuilding the bridge to bolster his cashflow. He also grew up around heavy equipment which shows with how comfortable he is around it.

Rather than focus on the blunders, I like to view the show with envy. How many among us would not like to set off for the wild to play with big toys hoping to strike it rich?

might be cool for a week or 2 but not 7 days a week for over 12hours a day for 3 months or more!!!

Still more realistic than that Ice Road Seatcovers.
Speaking of sponsorship......ever notice how one season Carlisle had Craftsman tools and banners all over the shop and they always zoomed in on the Craftsman batteries they were putting in the trucks.
Now they keep towing all the transports with new Eco Boost and F-350 Powerstrokes. And they always zoom in on the emblems and say.....thank God we had this new Ford to pull that out.

LOL! Give me a break.

only you would notice.;)

no I noticed that, 2 seasons ago they has those craftsman tools, they had banners and toolboxes around. The drivers also had tools.

Then noticed this last season that they has powerstrokes.

Im in the forestry biz, and Ax Men is one of the fakest of these shows out there! Was real and now its totally a joke!

All of these reality shows are scripted for the masses. Ax Men is so far from real life logging its a joke. My son worked for Henderson in Idaho and laughs at the show all the time.

They are very good at one thing. Keeping you watching to see who messes up next.

got to draw the line about what is scripted and what isnt.

the drama might be pushed up, the dialog suggested. But (take axe men) they were following a forwarder on a different track and the guy cut into a dead pine and a 4" branch let go and fell from like 40' up and pierced the bullet proof window above the operator and came to a rest about 3" above the guys shoulder. you dont script that kind of stuff.

Same for deadliest catch. The drama might be pushed up, but when a captain dies of a heart attack on camera, you dont script that. When a guy gets toss overboard (in season 4?) and the film crew boat picks him up, you dont script that kinda sh*t.

People said for years that Paul Jr and Paul Sr fought like dogs "on camera" because it made good TV. Bull.... you dont script splitting up your family, sueing your son, not going to his weding, 2 years of court battles etc. Shure the directors may try to setup SOME conflict, or illicit reaction by suggesting stupid stunts, but when you have real customers paying 100's of thousands of dollars for custom bikes, you dont script bad powder coat or wheels that dont fit 3 days before you have to deliver the product. I mean you could, but then when its "fixed" 24 hrs later when it took them a week to do it the first time, you know it was setup simply building 2 ahead of time...

still plenty of the discovery style reality shows that arnt just 100% staged TV.

And big time wrestling gets some bloody noses sometimes. So what.

If ya stick your nose out in the wrong place it'll get bopped. What's new !

Regardless of the out come, they were/are a set up from the get go.

I guess that "Swamp Loggers" would be the show that is closest to reality. Even their new equipment often breaks down. My fiancee cannot understand why I am always running to the store to get some hose, fitting or hardware. All she is familiar with is her car, and modern cars have gotten very reliable. If you grew up in the days of "tune ups," points, condensers, chokes and 3000 mile spark plugs you know what I mean.

Did you see last night the backhoe bucket that broke? Never heard of that happening.

I don't get it on my discovery channel anymore, but Swamp Loggers was one of my favourites. No fake "drama" and I like how Bobby treats his guys with respect and doesn't put on a show walking around screaming at everyone like these other shows.
