we have had a few showers that are freezing on the road this morning,its 33 now with more showers on the way.we are going to hit a high of 39.

Mixed day today, some cloud, showers, sun hopefully and a high of 6C/42F.
Got the new computer hooked up yesterday, came with windows 7 home premium.
Of course all the programs are laid out differently so will take a while to figure it all out.
Biggest challenge will be teaching the wife.

Win 7 computers are now on closeout...all 3 of mine are Vista and I am waiting for what comes after Windows 8 to upgrade. People gripe about Vista but I really like it myself. What irks me is having to pay Willy Gates an obscene $90-100 per computer per upgrade...upgrades are so overpriced no wonder so many Win users are like me.

41 degrees here now, have to go meet with an attorney for tax purposes....so many things to do. See ya tomorrow.

My Heat Pump says it is 35, and I could not see any stars. The heat has come on a couple times so I thought it was colder than that.

Headed into work early due to a training session & meeting. No hunting today...

I saw 6 deer last night as I was driving into our street. There has been logging this week at a large property at the other end of the road, and I suspect it has messed up some of their trails and movements. But they left Thursday evening...

I have not upgraded a computer since Windows 3.1 to 3.11... I've been in this business since 1982 and I buy a "good deal" computer and when it starts failing or messing up, or cannot run some new thing I want to run, I junk it and get a new "Good Deal" computer.

I agree the upgrade fee is too high, and the results you get are iffy... If th software is newer, it probably needs the newer hardware too!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 34 degrees with clouds this morning. Heading to 44 with showers though out the day. Back to preparing for trip to TX.
Don, It is a 4 cylinder . Current towed car is 6 cylinder. Not going to push much with either car. Beside wife does not like sitting back there by herself pushing.

Good morning! 61˚ and foggy with the high of 78˚ expected. That makes every afternoon in December in the mid 70s.
The bull didn't go ballistic till he realized he was trapped in the trailer, that was enough excitement for the day. Now he has a new girlfriends and can relate with Jdgreen .

After the bull transport, flat repair and a run it was dark, so no advancement on the drive yesterday.

Ron, at least with that hatchback you can use it as a trailer to haul your stuff.

Actually, we'll be a in a rental house for 4-6 months. The owner will let us have our Boxer dog (we have to pay an extra deposit)...not sure about the piglet. Little piglets are cute...but they grown up to be BIG piggies!

This is why I get frustrated with environmentalists griping about climate change and oil wells yadayada.... between cell phones and computers alone, the waste of resources and materials is outlandish. Honestly, I have fallen victim to "buy a new one instead of upgrade"- too easy for our society. Huge push to get away from plastic grocery bags but no real effort to thwart the disposal of electronics.

Here in Vermont, a law was passed mandating electronics be brought to a "recycle" center. Oh..by the way- you have to pay a seperate fee.

sorry for the rant-

1010- partly cloudy and cold. no snow at this elevation but saw some falling about 100 feet higher across the valley yesterday. Green Christmas perhaps?

Got delayed yesterday at the car dealeryesterday afternoon, a one hour oil/filter and change over to winter tires already on rims turned into a 3 ｽ hour wait. So plan is to grade the road today.
Our old computer has had 2 hard drives replaced, it was time to get a new one. At least now we can take it to a proper recyle place, only costs some $$$$$$$$$$$$$ of course.

TXdon, glad you got you bull moved OK. When I moved our 2 cows this summer between pastures I used grain in buckets to entice them to follow me, took it slow and they came. :laughing::laughing:

1022- Bizzare update. As I sit with my cup of coffee, I got an eerie feeling. I look out the window and sitting in the tree is a grey squirell STARING at me.....

Oddly, this is the first Grey I've seen around up here in years. Red squirrels usually hang out. This one is pretty fat, maybe gonna have squirell for dinner- Kids would never forgive me.

3 computers at XP, 1 W2K and 1 at 98 (2cnd ed). Don't upgrade OS at home and rarely did at work as Moss said takes special circumstances to work.

Well stated...I always thought XP was the best and most stable Win OS, but I gave away all my XP computers because Vista was far superior for my needs (digital photos, etc) but it is a memory hog. Spent much of today running around trying to find the deed to my property....it's not in my safe at home, nor my safe deposit box 20 miles away, or at the law office I had write up my trust back in Y2K....where the (bleep) is it? Can't refinance without the deed, can't pay off the ex her equity without the refinance, can't finalize the divorce until I can pay her the equity...what a flipping mess. Makes me want to drink beer, eat Cheetos, and surf ****. You got that, 300Uguy....? :laughing:
