How do they compare not pulling any thing?

Titan:

Highway gets 16mpg.

Day to day driving it gets 13.5mpg.

Towing 7K car hauler at max load it gets 10mpg. My 9,700# boat it gets 9mpg.

Average since new my truck has done right at 13 mpg. (66,000 miles) It tows right at 50% the miles.

Dads F-150:

Highway I have seen 22 mpg. On 60 mph state roads I seen 24mpg.

Towing my car hauler loaded it got 14mpg.

Towing that box trailer it got 13mpg.

Average since new it has gotten right at 18.3 mpg. (15,000 Miles) 10% towing

I have not put my boat on it but I would not be surprised to see 12 mpg.

F150 won it last year.

Yep. Whoever does a redesign that year wins. I put no stock in this at all even though my F-350 I own was truck of the year the year I bought it as is my boat.

No one has dominated these ___________ of the year contest.

My 95 Chevy 1500 WT with 6 banger gets 24 MPG.

Thats great but you can't pull more than a pop up camper with it. We are talking real trucks. Yours is probably 2 wd also..No offense.

Go test drive all the trucks you can with all the options you want/Need, you might find the truck who's looks appeal to you the most has a ride you can stand, or the truck that you like the motor in has a cheap interior, the bottom line is the one who know what you want and need most in a truck is you.

This is the same advice you get when going for a tractor, go figure. Personally I am not a light duty guy but my next truck will definitely have seamless phone, text and nav with voice commands. I was really not impressed with the payloads posted by the Ram for 2012 though they are supposed to be muscling up for 2013. The electronics in the GMC products are not there yet but and excellent mechanical beast and the Super Duties had it all only that the dash still looks like a service van to me, lol. If I buy a Ford my dad will be rolling in his grave laughing as he was always a Ford guy even when the paint washed off in the drive lol and I was anything but and banged him out over it ;) Anyways enjoy the hunt!

I am by no means a ford fan. I like dodges and chevys differently for different reasons and rarely try to push them on anyone else except maybe buddies when I want to poke fun. I will admit though that dodge is not innocent of having front end problems as well. Read about the "death wobble" all over the truck forums. I know that from at least the '94 era to like '06, I did not see any significant changes to the front end, except of a redesign of the track bar (barely). I am hoping that they have it fixed by now with the new trucks, but would not be surprised to find nearly identical parts under there still.

I don't think I'm going to buy another Dodge again. Their suspenion seems to wear pretty poorly. Both 1500 and 2500 I've owned were the same, maybe lowest bid suppliers on the bushings and such; maybe bad luck but it seems pretty common.

If I were to get a work truck for me personally (considering I have a diesel already to pull bigger loads with) I'd get an F150 5.0 long bed extended cab, 2wd with vinyl seats/floors, and power windows. Throw a set of all terrains on it and just drive the heck out of it. I'd also get nav and a leather steering wheel if you could get it.

Just my experience but I spend a lot of time in my truck daily. Cloth is nice but eventually it smells like a stinky taco mixed with spilled coffee and cigarettes. I hate fumbling with my tom tom nav. I hate in my work truck reaching over to crank the window down, I had an alarm with door lock key fob installed so I don't have to fumble with my keys. I don't see the point of driving a diesel day to day when I can drive a cheaper gasser. I'll probably NEVER own a short bed again. Regular cab is ok but extra space of the ext cab is nice.
Also around here you don't need 4x4.

If you aren't driving this particular truck much I'd get a 3/4 ton though.
