Kubota L45
I recently traded my L39 for an L45. I had installed a Kubota 3rd function kit on my L39. I was lucky enough to find it on Ebay for ~$500. Now I am looking to install a kit on my L45. The Kubota kit is $885. The WR Long kit is $837 from Everything Attachments. It looks like the hydraulic flow is ~12 gpm.

Can I piece together a kit cheaper?

Handle/switch
Hoses
Fittings

I would think so. I did my L3010 for $275. I did not use and electric solenoid hydraulic valve w/ a switch in the loader lever though. I used a standard spool valve and had a separate control lever for the grapple valve.

Hmm...I wonder how I could mount that. The L45 uses a cable driven FEL valve with the control lever mounted to the right of the operator. Not quite the same setup as the removable FEL and loader valve you have.

I had the electric over hydraulic on my L39...I'm not sure I would want a 2nd lever.

Do you have to have the true 3rd function? Diverter valves are less $$$ and easier to install.

Can I run a hydraulic auger off of a diverter?

Yes sir, just need to be sure to have a big enough flow diverter, no different than you need to be sure to have a big enough 3rd function valve and you would not use a momentary switch, but a maintained type switch. Same applies to both types of valves.

I think I want to stick with a true 3rd function like I had on my L39. The more I think about it, the more I liked the way it worked.

Any suggestions for the electronic solenoid valve? I think it needs to be double-acting with an open center.

Do I need 1/2" or 3/8" lines?

I would use the sizes you have on the tractor now. My L3010 had 3/8" hoses and 1/2" (SAE 8) fittings. So that is what I used. My flow is only 6.8 gpm. I used an 8 gpm valve that was on special at Surplus Center.

I would use 1/2" hose for the 3 main lines and 3/8" for your 2 work lines. ;)
