That valve and base should work if you select the valve based on pump flow, and the flow will be instant and full on. No feather.

You need to know the implement GPM in order to get the correct valve, or equal to the pump GPM.

If you add the valve in series to the remote hyd circuit, your hyd flow is about 11.8 GPM

I never had feather with the L39 3rd function and it never seemed to be a problem.

I want to equal the pump GPM. I do have an auger I want to run off the function, so max flow is desired.

The thing I am trying to remember:
Does the 3rd function valve go inline between the FEL valve and the 3 point hitch?

Pull the hose from the FEL to the 3-point hitch. New hose goes from FEL to 3rd function valve, then new hose from 3rd function valve to 3-point hitch?

Any where in the implement hyd circuit would work, but remember that once you activate the 3ed function, nothing after that valve will have any fluid..
The OC solenoid will work with a slow speed motor, and will instantly stop the motor with power off, as work ports are locked.

Any other hyd motor with a large spinning mass such as a bush hog should use the solenoid motor spool, or a manual valve like this, which is variable speed.

This is a flow control valve with relief to vary the speed of a hyd motor.

A couple of GPM difference will not make much difference, as you probably will not want to run your tractor at max engine rpm.

GPM will determine the speed of the direct drive hyd auger.

The speed of the auger is determined by the displacement of the motor, the larger the displacement, the slower the auger will run. You can also vary engine rpm also.

If you want to use solenoid valve, this one is very close at 11.5 GPM and will lock in detent with momentary power.

I saw that valve. I didn't quite understand what was meant by "no neutral position".

Is there a sticky or decent reference I could read to try to learn all of the terms?

Detent means the spool stays in place and not return to neutral. Otherwise, when you click the valve button, it activates the solenoid and locks the spool,in fwd or rev for hyd motor operation.

I can't lie. I don't understand how that would work in this application. I thought I needed something where everything was open to tank normally?

You use an open center spool with a hyd motor, but you have to slow the motor down so it will not act as a pump when you go to neutral.

A motor spool lets the hyd motor wind down when you go to neutral.

Ok, so motor spool is very important for my intended use. Will that be "ok" with running normal cylinders on the grapple?
