jeffinsgf,
Yep, sometimes it's our perspective.
Here in south Texas, we're hip deep in illegal and legal aliens. They are having to be educated, fed, clothed, medicated, transported, insured, etc., etc. by us.
Their families across the border expect them to be protected by us also.
Even though they are out of our hands for the most part, it is still our responsibility provide what help we can, however we can.
In my heart, I know they should be working to better their own country and make it something to be proud of, where people die trying to get there.
But, those that do make the trek here deserve to not be ignored, mistreated and exploited.

Laws are logical if you are a lawyer....... just like the IRS code is simple is you are a CPA. It is called "job security" when only the people in the "trade" understand what it is all about. Now, where the notion of "ignorance of the law, is no excuse" came from, I have no idea...... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

True, although nothing in the law is that simple. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The French have to:

A) be able to ask us (too dense and arrogant to learn any other language but our own) Americans for help.

B) they also need to be able to surrender in as many languages as it takes.

There is a cure to the illegal problem. Very simple.
If you are found guilty of hiring someone that does not have a legal right to to work in the US massive crippling fines guaranteed to destroy your enterprise will be levied.
If there is no work there will be no illegals.

Old thread, hello.

Tell lazy *** white people to work then. Everyone deserves and education and you can do anything you want... That mentality has really screwed us. Here is your participation trophy Pitch1. Thanks for the advice.

We have migrants that work trimming our vineyards here. I was at a friends house around Halloween time and was chatting with him (he is a fellow vineyard owner) and were talking about how it is hard to find any legal US citizen that would want to do this type of work and would rather take unemployment or welfare. Well his friend jumps up and starts getting mad because he is on unemployment and was at a job making $15 an hour. Said he shouldn't be forced to work for anything less then that. We both laughed at that as he proved our point we were discussing, there is work available and most legal US citizens don't want to do physical labor in fields. I pay the guys working for me $12 an hour when they are helping me with haying. The trimmers get 30 cents per vine to trim and they trim 6 days a week and average around $700 a week per guy trimming. For the amount of hours they are working that averages out to $14.50 an hour. I and most all of the other grape growers would prefer to have a US citizen work for us. I would perfer to have one guy do all my trimming so that I can tell him how to do each field and not have to worry as much as the migrants come in with large crews and some guys are good, other guys have no clue what they are doing. So it isn't an ideal situation but it is what we have to work with. I have had multiple people tell me they want to trim for me yet when I tell them they can start trimming they no longer want to do the work. I have no choice but to hire the guys willing to do the work and the guys begging for work all seem to be coming from Mexico.

We were not happy with how the other guys were running their crews. We never knew who was working or if they were even legal. So this year we found a family that is here legally and have hired them to trim all our grapes. It is a father, mother and son. They have been great, do a great job and show up when they say they will. I plan to use them from now on as long as they are living in this area.

Since your in the finger Lakes area I am sure you have a lot of migrants in the vineyards and other crop farms. Destroying the farmers won't help anyone. When the US cracked down on the illegals a lot of them fled to Mexico and this area was hit hard with a shortage of workers on farms. Who will take care of the farms if there are no one legal who is willing to do the work? If the farms can't produce the crops who will feed the people? All that will happen is prices will go up, supplies will go down and everyone will lose money. The US needs to make it easier for immigrants to get work visas so they can come here legally to work. We need people willing to work on farms, not everything can be done by machines (or done properly by machines).
