Why you should change your oil

/ Why you should change your oil #81
I have to admit this thread has taken a bizarre turn. Been following it since the start with interest... saw Chris' response to the dispensable Ford comment and thought it was a throwaway, lighthearted response... a quick jab back at the original jabber, and done in good humor. Now 2 pages of what seem to me to be unsolicited and unwarranted harrasment, starting with the accusation he is being petulant to a helpful BIL. I don't get it. Maybe I'm too new to the forum and don't have enough history, or maybe I'm just too thick-skinned to be offended when someone pokes fun at my tractor color or truck badge, but Chris' contributions are ones (among a good number of other regulars) that I'll intentionally read as he strikes me as helpful. I just don't see anything worthy of reporting, though some of the recent additions to this thread seem to have no purpose other than picking on a poster. What am I missing?

Hang around for a while and you'll see a trend...just sayin.

I bet Chris wishes he would have never started this thread.

What a bunch of cry babies. Come on, it's an internet forum. It's not like you will agree with everyone else at all times. When you don't, post about it or ignore it. If it crosses the line the mod's will deal with it. If they don't, again, just ignore it.

To chris,
I would not block you bc you have some good knowledge base and you respond quite quickly. But do you get the point about where this tread has gone. You come across pretty arrogant and harsh at times. I have three ford in my driveway(I don't know if that makes me a ford boy or not), lay off "the ford is better than everything else", they've had their problems and will again in the future I'm sure. Let me tell you I, personally, would not want you to stop posting all together as you a contributing member here. Just take it easy a bit.
Cheers
Patrick

Call it what you want but my daughter even knows to change your oil. I told this all to his face and he had two choices, agree or swing. He agreed he screwed up.

Chris

ditto.. even my wife ( who can break an anvil with a feather ), even knows to check / change oil.. ( especially since she drives that yukon that needs oil often :(

Thanks. Yes, I spent $60 and a few hours of my time plus towed it 120 miles home. All this for something that was not my fault. All I did was drive it. I did not abuse it, ect. Plus when I got it it was on empty. I put $88 worth of gas in it and he got it back with about 3/4 of a tank.

Chris

i do the same if I borrow somthing. i'll wash it or fuel it, or somehow return it better than I got it.

He's a straight shooter and great source of info... many of us here don't mince words, but rather shoot from the hip and say what we have to say.

many don't have the stomache to hear the plain hard cold truth.. or a strong opinion.

Aaron,

If you read this sticky posted at the top of these forums, it doesn't seem like complaining to the moderators about a forum bully would be received with very much sympathy. I think his legendary posting numbers and supporter group get him a longer leash than the typical TBN member. I have less than 200 posts and have been insulted as a GM truck owner repeatedly.

First.. I'm sorry you own a gm truck :) ( hey.. i'm VERY sorry I own a gm truck... ;) )

I can tell you from uh (cough) first hand experience that the mods DO check a thread out if there are reports made about it. There are some real good mods working here. The staff in general is quite helpfull.. from the list owner/admin, doown thru the tech people, and the mod squad.. etc.

If you can't say it nicely, don't say it.

remember.. you can always ignore a person if you just can't stand reading their posts. I have a few people on ignore, and if anyone doesn't like my posts.. I'm the first to pipe up and suggest they ignore me.

win-win situation.. mtual ignore. just in case one of our bags fall off. ;)

happy neaw year.

There is always a better way on doing and saying thing the then cold hard truth.

I think its was you that we got into about a month ago, I am not going to that again. Some people can grow, some can not and some people just do want to. Where do you stand?
