Simple, the dealership and the people who work there.

This morning Mrs. 4shorts and myself headed into the city to buy our fourth Kubota product since 2008. I'll admit that the first Kubota (Grand L 4240C) was purchased because of the Kubota name BUT the next three machines were purchased because of the fine people who work and run Newfoundland Kubota and as they say on Duck Dynasty "That's a fact Jack"

We arrived and went into the showroom. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist saying "Good Morning" then we seen Todd Fisher. He's one of Newfoundland Kubota's Sales Representatives and the guy who sold us our first Kubota and every other one since then. As Todd was talking to us Darcy Tucker who is the companies GM and sales rep. came over and shook hands with us. As customers my wife and I are always impressed with the professionalism these guys have and are great representatives of the Kubota product line.

Our new BX25D was sitting there on the showroom floor and I know how much everyone here enjoys a few photos and seeing I do so much bragging about our Kubota dealership I talked Darcy and Todd into a photo moment ;) Darcy is left, Todd on the Right

Now on to the tractor. We paid for the machine but never took delivery yet because the guys got the Kubota QC system, the tool box and the mechanical thumb ordered plus we're in no rush for the machine because its not going to be used until this coming spring. I did ask the guys about the optional rear fender Kubota lights but they didn't have a listing on them but said they would check on them and get back to us.

I also asked about the rubber pads that go on the backhoes outriggers and low and behold they had them sitting on the floor. After seeing them I knew it was an easy build but the guys gave us a good buy on them so we bought them as well.

As I usually do, I've included some photos for your viewing pleasure. When the guys do get the machine out to us the mods will start and I'll use this same thread to show them.

I have a birthday in a few weeks so my lovely wife got this BX for me. What a great wife and thanks to Darcy and Todd for making this purchase like all the others a very pleasant experience for us.

Happy New Year everyone.

Congrats on the tractor. I am sure you will be impressed by the performance of it. That looks like a nice dealership.

Thanks Roger. Yep it should be handy to have around. Just got tired of a pick and shovel. They don't call this island "The Rock" for nothing. Yes it's a great dealership. The way people are today and the net being what it is we hardly ever hear the good stories. Seems when folks are mad about something they just let it spill all over the net but if something or someone does a good job they won't take the time to say thank you and that's sad. This is why I wanted to give our local Kubota dealership a very high thumbs up

Man I can't get that tool box to stay upright

Looks like you have a great dealer!

Where did they get the vac and toolbox?

/ What makes a good product better #5
Home Depot sells that toolbox online for 599 dollars. They also sell the identical toolbox with the Husky name, painted black, for 299 dollars.A lot of money for an orange paint job.

Thanks man. Oh my mind is full of ideas for this little machine. Just wish they'd make a tractor I wouldn't have to mod  I know that will never happen :D

Oh come on Paul, you'd be bored to death if you had a tractor that didn't need modifying.

Your dealership looks to be very professionally ran and organized. I don't have a dealer anywhere near me like that. :(

I hadn't saw the toolbox yet but last time I was in my closest dealership they had a Kubota chest type soda pop cooler. My wife asked about it, but it wasn't for sale.

They are a pretty big dealership. They sell truck and JCB equipment. They are on top of things and it shows.

Hum. You got me interested in that Kubota cooler. Must have been something they had custom done. I dabble in that sort of thing as well. Here's a few examples of some old 1953 Coca Cola coolers that I converted into a diner table and another I converted into a sofa. Now I just might do a Kubota cooler

Ya. I think I got a bad Coke habit :confused3:

Oh, I did not know HD sold that.

Oh, I did not know HD sold that.

Me neither. Wonder when they got into the Kubota stuff? With them selling JD mowers, you'd think that there would be no way Deere would let anything Kubota be sold at HD.

Paul, no doubt Newfoundland Kubota are a fine dealer, however from what Ive been told, they are consistently SEVERAL thousand dollars more than a dealer on the mainland for the same tractor. Did you price shop over here? Or were you not concerned with the difference?

That was the case when I first started buying Kubota's. I really don't think its much of an issue These days. The deal that I got on this machine was very much cheaper than I could get it in the US let alone NS.
I also found in the past that dealers outside NL tried to discourage us from buying outside the Provence. Then there was the price of shipping
I know I'd never get this new tractor cheaper anywhere but I'd still not want to bypass my dealer and get it elsewhere. They'd have to be WAY out to lunch on the pricing for me to do that. We call that "biting off your nose despite your face". You never know when you'll need your dealer. :ashamed:

Good point about having a local dealer. Curious about which dealers over here were discouraging people from Nl purchasing? I know my dealer regularly hauls a trailer/wk to Newfoundland in the peak season. They seem to have no issues selling over there? Good point on shipping, last tractor my bro bought included shipping, now, with Marine Atlantic's latest price gouging, I dont know if they still do that.

Glad to hear that Nfld Kubota has come around. Must have been pretty recent though;) My brother was saying that they were still high last time he checked.

Not a tractor, but one of his friends just bought a new semi tractor from here in NS. It was $30k cheaper! Our prices are high, but you guys on the rock seem to even have it worse.

I wouldn't know about the truck pricing. Thank God I haven't gotten into trucks  When we have checked the Kubota pricing in the past between NS dealers and our NL dealer the deference wasn't worth the phone call and that's where the conversation went by the NS dealer saying " we can price it up but its better to purchase it in your local area". That was back in 2008 and things could be very much different these days. As I said, for the pricing I get and the service I couldn't turn my back on our dealer.

I remember last year when we decided to special order a new Mustang. We got our pricing here on it then decided to call a few dealers in NS. We where very surprised to see our prices were actually better than the ones from NS Ford dealers and some of them prices were way off by a long shot so we ordered it from our dealer just up the road, received it eight weeks later and all is good.
Maybe its just a fluke with us? I don't know but I call it as I see it :confused3:

Oh man the US DEA is going to be all over you for your Coke habit.

Oh boy. Never thought about that!
